Whoa wait what. v4 has working camera :confused: thats news to me. Damn I thought I tried v4 Kaos but maybe I didnt shoot. :eek:

Aosp apps. Aren't always popular because some users prefer the functionality of oem ones....this why not everyone in the root crowd ultimately goes to aosp when available.....which is fine.....personally on other phones I used vignette as my camera app for aosp ....in early cm6. For the inc the stock camera was limited in megapixels and functionality and vignette got around it......well worth the $4 or whatever it costs

Is that an older version? I think 2.15.xx is the lastest. I had that one working on v1 vanilla. But not once I flashed v2 right over no wipe. I think with swype you just have to delete something somewhere. I know thats vague. Im back on 2.1 so Im a tad out of touch with all the how to's of 2.2

I'm not sure if its older. I tried the newest 2.15, 2.4 and 2.6 and the 2.4 was the only one that worked for me. I might have screwed something up on mine messing with root explorer so maybe thats why 2.15 didn't work. I'm just glad I have some form of it back on my phone. I can't input anything without my swype.

So I'm guessing verizon is getting ready to release froyo ota since the devs finally managed to get their hands on it.

They had camera on the first aosp but it didn't have video.

JT I believe said he had just about everything working but it borked sms so he was trying to fix that before release. I may have also dreamed the whole thing;)

I was going to say in case anyone hasn't noticed jt has v.4 of this up over at xda. It's getting pretty close, just a little more and I think I'll be ready to switch over to this and use this as a daily.

its getting good no doubt...maybe in a week or two ill move to it once usb mass storage is going
 
Bumpity :D JT has done an amazing job. v0.6 is the first Fascinate AOSP I've kept on my phone for more than a day.

Though IMHO (and lots of people seem to disagree) it's not faster than EB01 super clean touchwiz at this point.

Squid probably knows this but for those that dont aosp froyo is scoring higher in quad than eb01 froyo merely because the aosp is not reading the cpu scores correctly. Much like the initial numbers we got from Kaosinate when that was scoring 2500+. If anyone has quad advanced they can confirm this. Quad is quad take it or leave it but dont judge anything by it

Is this easy to flash and then get back into recovery to restore a backup?

Edit: This version, I mean. I was under the impression there was some trickiness to the older versions.
 
I suspect jt's vanilla will be my long-term daily driver once he gets his hands on sammy's kernel source. Hell I'd use it now if it weren't for the lack of haptic on softkeys (I'm weird about that). I know it's blasphemy to say so, but I'm just not a big fan of the superclean ROMs. Too many things removed in the name of saving resources that weren't really at a premium to begin with.

I personally like the supercleans as they save me the time of sorting apps I don't want...and they throw in non sanding apps that I prefer ....at some point I will move to aosp for good though
 
Just tried out 8.1 for the first time for a day. Wow, I am almost on board as making this my primary daily driver. I had a couple questions though before I leave SuperClean behind (which has been great)

When somebody sends me an MMS, do I get a blank text? Or do they get an error message on their end? Or does it just disappear into space?

I am assuming I cannot restore titanium backup data from SC to AOSP? When I tried, none of it stuck. I'm still getting the hang of TiBu. I realized I couldn't restore bookmarks to the browser when I was on AOSP.

I can't wait for the next update to this (hopefully it will be updated!)

Titanium backup works fine from superclean to aosp and vice versa
