Sup everyone thought i share this sweet vanilla version of froyo for the Fascinate, i just installed itand so far its the best froyo rom IVE used it reminds of my old Droid 1 its really smooth and fast so if you like vanilla android you wont be disappointed...make sure you download the gapps and kernal available because the kernal packaged with the rom my 3g was broken but i added the kernal and the patch thats also available and i am totally happy... [ROM] Vanilla FroYo AOSP v0.9.1a - 3/14 - Now also with NexTheme Version - xda-developers

i would love to move over to vanilla FroYo...but i wont untill mms is working...

I hear you. I want AOSP MMS so much. Call volume has been fixed, and I never use the camcorder. Bluetooth I use occasionally, but I can live without it. Other than no MMS, AOSP has been my favorite overall experience so far.
mms is explicitly listed as not working by jt himself and I've never heard anyone else suggest that it does work...are you sure you're not confusing mms and sms?

That and the camera. Seems like that hasn't been working since day 1 lol no one take pictures on their phones?

My bad mms isnt workn but sms is...after before i flashed the modem it was the other way around...i could send mms but no txts now i can send txts but no mms...weird..sorry for the mis information
I really wanna try this, but I just can't without those last few pieces up and running. I must be the only person on these boards that actually uses every function of the phone somewhat regularly. 
I take pictures and videos all the time (especially since I just got back from a vacation.) I mms people all the time, and I use bluetooth in my car all the time too.

no me too...i stream my music via BT in my car...i have a 3yr old boy...and i am always taking pix and vidz and sending them to the grandmas. so i need everything working...it has to be a daily driver...

samsungs touchwiz skinned android is horribly hacked together. Its using ril from like android 1.6 and their source is bad. Touchwiz is so intrusive to the system that it forces you to work around it and with it for aosp rather than just build aosp and flash.

thats a real bummer!!
why would such a big company like samsung invest...and then sell...such an incomplete product?? it makes no sense...they are a big company...they should be able to get the best and brightest, when it comes to coding...
...but i guess the same could be said for other skins...ie MotoBlur...
and question...what is "ril"?

we have some theories as to why samsung did what they did...but touchwiz essentially is just an oem skin a la motoblur/sense...its just more intrusive than either of those two...and clearly was meant to steal some of the iphone crowd

i can see the iPhone-esk look and feel of TW...but @ what cost? performance? and really how many iPhone users did they really win over?
anyway...thats why i love what jt, you, and the other devs are doing...bring the truest possible google experience to our phones...
