Root [Verizon] BOOM!

a few people are up and running on a non-kexec CM10 build as we speak...

edit: i have not done this yet myself...ive resisted temptation...and tried to take a step back and gather as much info as i can so i can try to be more of a help here

Easy as pie, especially since there are now apps in the market that one click root and unlock the bootloader. It's the only way to fly, especially if you are already familiar with the manual ways and just want to save time. Re-Odin'd to stock and it took all of 5 minutes to root/unlock phone. The official nightly of CM 10 still has the MMS problem but the code to fix that is already submitted and approved. The "unofficial" version already has the fix folded in but will not stream music via bluetooth.

I see you're running Clean Rom. Does it have vol skip on tracks? How are you liking it?

Yes and digging it. It's so similar to stock with a few bells and whistles and Scott is extremely attentive to suggestions/feedback. TW and the UI is so new and fresh for me coming from the GN that I want to stay here for a bit. I'm so impressed with the battery life it makes me giddy. I struggle to make it drain.

I use Google play music and it doesn't skip tracks with the volume rocker. I don't know if it does with a regular music player. I do not see that feature listed in the changelogs.

I'll be sticking with CR for a bit.

I asked him on xda and he said no vol rocker. Unfortunately, to me, that's a deal breaker. I would have flashed it yesterday otherwise. No biggie, Synergy is probably almost the same. Yes, I love the new look and feel too. Battery life is just incredible.

I looked at CM10...and maybe I am a little uninformed but the main concern I have is the nightly updates. I know I do not need to flash it every night....but how often do you or should you update it?

Whenever they integrate something that you want. :dontknow:

Look at the commits or the changelog and decide if you need the new stuff. If so, just backup and flash over your current setup. No need to wipe unless something screws up, although you should wipe cache and dalvik before the flash. You will lose some customizations such as themes and kernel but that's an easy flash.

edit: ninja'd lol

Got it all...thanks a lot. I used to have CM7 when I had the Droid Eris...
I like the "google Now" aspect of things.
