The differences (as I see it) between iPhone users jumping to the latest iPhone and Android users jumping on a new Android device:
1) iPhone is only one device and just now... is on more than one carrier. Android devices are found on every major carrier and the choices of handsets are numerous.
2) iPhone users are loyal to the apple brand... because of genuine affection for all things Apple, or because they have no other choice of handset manufacturer running iOS. Id really like to see how an HTC device running iOS would be received by iPhone users
Android users are not as loyal to the handset manufacturers because... well, we have several choices. All I really care about is that my phone and tablet runs Android. Does that make me a fanboy... I dont think so. But I have bought into Android in a big way. I have 6 ACTIVE android powered devices in my house right now. To the people that say Android has no eco system... come on over

(although I think most of that discussion is centered around not having an iTunes alternative for Android).
Constantly needing to have the best device... I dont see anything wrong with that (go ahead... stimulate the economy

). I'm going to upgrade to one of the CES showcased phones as well because electronic devices are my vice (dont drink much... dont smoke anymore... and don't usually get on the golf couse more than a few times a year LOL).
Heres my point... I'm not going to buy an iPhone 4 or 5 regardless of carrier. Why? Because Apple sucks? No. Because Android is "better" than iOS? No. I'm not considering the iPhone for the same reason I would not consider a Win7, Blackberry, or Palm device... It simply doesnt fit in! I think the amount of users that will switch from an Android smartphone to the Verizon iPhone has been grossly exaggerated. If you have bought in to one eco system... it doesn't seem advantageous to switch and there is a certain comfort in staying with "what you know". I can control my Google TV with two different apps... on 5 different devices

. I never have to look for a remote again.
Just another couple of pennies I'm throwing out there
