I missed the first half of the discussion so I'm sorry if I repeat something but I think it's important to point out that Apple has had a lot longer to flaunt the iPhone and tell everyone how great it is and they can't live their life without it than Google, or any of the companies with Android on their phones, have. I'm not saying the iPhone is a bad phone. Not by any means. BUT a lot of the people buying it are getting it for the hype it has gotten over the years. As a Verizon authorized retailer I can't tell you how many people come up to me saying "do you have that i.. phone.. something like that?" They don't even know what it's really called or what it's about and they want it because one of their friends said "look what I can do" and now they want it, too. They definately have no idea what Android is. Once Android gets more time to get their name out there and has people talking about them, then we'll see who does better, but the iPhone has a definate headstart.
When the iPhone comes to Verizon tons of people are going to switch to it, and all the iFans are going to go touting about how much better it is because now that one little phone is dominating the smartphones, but once people that aren't really tech savvy learn what Android is, then we'll see where everyone stands.
