[Verizon] [KERNEL][4.0.4] LeanKernel 3.10.0 (7/2)

so it's not on...?

No it is not by default.

When you connect your device into a data port it detects it and charges at 500mAh.

When you connect to a charging unit there is supposed to be 2 of the four terminals shorted. This tells the device it is not connected to a data port and it enables the full charging current and sets it to 1.

When you ffc in terminal emulator you force it to charge at the full amount and data transfer is disabled.

So the benefit of ffc is so you can get more than the 500mAh if its available.

Some PC's only output 500mAh so its moot.

But my charging/data cradles have 1.0A available and if I am more interested in charging I just ffc.

If you have a car charger that the mfg did not wire or build it correctly so there is a minimum resistance it will stay at 0.

So being able to change it manually, need it or not, is why we love Root eh?

Lol yes it is. I read that part in the forum I just wasn't sure if it was on or off by default...I want it off data connection is important

Ty! Looks nice please post experiences when tested thoroughly.

That means you too jmar! :D

First day on 2.4 exp1 no trim. Taken from battery stats after I completely drained the device and had to plug in to keep on.

So I actually "combine" screen on time/voice calls time as one number in my head since the two are the most battery intensive tasks outside of streaming video. So I am digging my first day with said kernel.

So I was on 3G most of the day. 12hrs of the 16. The other 4 on WIFI. Being my first day I think it is pretty good. Was at work most of the day but I use my phone at work a lot. I expect better results in the coming days with WIFI playing a key role.
And I honestly haven't adjusted to ICS' multitasking feature, so I still back out to the home screen a lot, which sometimes requires multiple back input. It is a carryover from my days with 2.1 Eclair when Android didn't have an optimized Just-In-Time compiler to facilitate proper multitasking. That is why task killers were needed back then. So I think I waste battery backing out and then bringing up recent apps and then swiping away. I need to, instead, go home and be comfortable with letting apps stay idle until not needed.

This was yesterday, overnight, and a little this morning. Didn't get the three hours screen time I wanted, but then again I only used it moderately. There was about a 2% drain overnight (10 hours). It cut off before I could get screenshots, but you'll see from that in the graph towards the end with a brief spike in power after plugging it in and turning back on. This is v2.4.0exp1-notrim and an extended battery.

So this is new....
Went to 2.4 notrim on Sunday and now my phone is staying awake....*backup*
The entire time the phone is unplugged....

Hmm, I think I'm going to give LK another go. Franco 18.6 has been decent so far, but I think I was getting better battery life from LK.

What governor do you all use with the latest LKs?

So went back to 2.3 notrim. Better....

No idea what that backup thing was...but it sucked half my battery in 3 hrs this morning.....

I am using interactivex.
Although I am now using the notrims, I have kept using interactivex.

Have you tried hotplugx at all? If so, what brought you back to interactivex?

I have tried interactive and hotplug and found the sleep drain is a little bit higher than the Xs. For whatever reason, hotplugx was really laggy coming back into the phone after sleeping, but interactivex just seems to like my phone the smoothest.
Also, since running lean kernal, I know my particular phone does NOT like the 1420 speed AT ALL...so I usually run at 1350/350....or on the notrim 1650/350. No lag, no hessitations.
Every phone appears to react different, but that works beat for me!!

unlocked rooted stock 4.0.4 by team black hat

lean kernel 2.3.0

80% battery remaining

15 hours up time

30 min screen time

light use

4g/wifi mix

badassbattery: remaining battery = 89 hours...:D

N00bish question, but "up time" means time since unplugged, right?

In what context? In bad ass battery up time is all dependent on your settings...it can be set at different reference points...are you talking about the built in battery monitor?

Oh lol thought it was just a general term instead of saying "awake" time or something like that. Didn't know it actually had a particular meaning lol

updated to 2.4.1

got 36 hours up time

a little over 3 hours screen time

split wifi/4g

underclocked to 920, still quick and responsive
