Verizon Note 2 Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Okay everyone take this with a grain of salt please!

I just called my Verizon store asking why I haven't received my shipment info and this is what he said, "Original shipment date was suppose to be the 23rd but Sammy pushed the date back to fulfil the demands." This is what Mr. Skinner told me, he said the moment it's in his hands he'll text me and bam it'll be in my hands. So shipment date is 27th...... But could also be any moment :)

Now I HOPE they're not in store tomorrow that would be annoying and defeat the point of a preorder.
 
I was hoping we would get the phone in hand by the 28th. When I've ordered replacements for my Droid X, I'm pretty sure they came overnight. Anyways I'm glad it's only two days after the ship date that we get our phones and not a week plus.
 
My order changed from "Order received and in process. Ship by 11/27/2012" (same thing it's said since I pre-ordered on 10/26, to "There was an error processing your order. Please refer to the email that was sent for further details."

I waited a few minutes and no email, so I called *611 and the CSR couldn't find out what was going on, so he contacted the Internet Sales department and transferred me to a manager there. The manager said that the pre-orders aren't going as smoothly as he had planned and there are some glitches they're working out.

He cancelled my order and put in a new pre-order. Then he did something (forgot what he called it) that puts my new pre-order back into the first batch shipping out tomorrow like it was originally supposed to.

Yeah, don't expect your phone to ship before tomorrow (11/27). The Internet Sales Manager said the first batch will be shipping tomorrow. Although my new confirmation email says ship today (11/26).


He said he's had a couple of calls about this "error processing order" already, so if yours changes to that, call them right away and get a new pre-order put in. They are shipping out pre-orders in the order they were received. The people that pre-ordered early will obviously get their shiny new Galaxy Note II before those that pre-ordered later. That's why many of you that have ordered later, like within the past couple weeks or so says "Check back tomorrow" instead of an actual ship date.
 
I ordered mines on 10/27... And hoping I'm in the first batch of orders? Do you think I will be though? I'm receiving the check back later message.

I wouldn't presume to guess, but you can call *611, then press "4" and use the automated system to check your order status. Seems that it's a little more up to date than the web page at the moment.

Wow! Some people really are that selfish.

You pre-ordered knowing it would "Ship By 11/27" and instead of the rest of us getting it early, you "HOPE" it doesn't hit stores tomorrow so that you will get yours before the rest of us. Do you feel entitled to something?

A pre-order is to ensure that you get it. The rest of us that walk-in do not have that guarantee.

Even if I did pre-order, I would not "Hope" for you to get yours late.

Chill out man. I think he just means it would be a shame for us to have to wait even longer than opposed to just walking into the story and buying one considering we committed to giving money to Verizon in advance. It's not so much about wishing others won't get it before us, but more like a knock on Verizon for not taking care of their pre-orderers before taking care of their general stock. It's a legitimate complaint if it did happen, but it rarely does so I don't think there's anything to worry about either way.

Thanks I was getting the same error message on my online order, (did it over phone on 11-23) and called VZW, rep canceled my order and re ordered, no delays in shipping so it's not like it's going to delay me getting it. apparently hopefully just speeded up the process.
 
My order shows on VZW as blank, nada, no status, no update, no ship date. I have no credit card purchase or hold for the charge either!

I don't think anyone had a choice in the matter. It never asked what shipping speed I wanted. Pretty much two-day shipping for all pre-orders from all the different phone launches I could remember.

Here's what I do not understand... Verizon said it would ship by the 27th. And those who pre-ordered basically said, "That is OK and sounds good to me." Now that rumors are that it may hit early (which it may or may not), some are upset that they may not get their phone until the 29th... the original date.

I'm not going to waste my time on it as I hope to see many of my fellow AA members with a Vermilion GN2 tomorrow.
 
Where do I need to go to see my order status? I cant find anything under my main account page other than I've used an upgrade and I need to activate a phone when I get it.

Now that rumors are that it may hit early (which it may or may not), some are upset that they may not get their phone until the 29h... the original date.

We pre-order with the expectation that we will get one even if it sells out, and that we will have it at the same time as the stores, or possibly earlier (my brother got his S3 five days before the in-store release). To get the device to the pre-order people AFTER the in-store release, would not make any sense at all. Pre-order customers are the ones who are the most interested in the device and have shown the highest level of commitment to purchasing the device. We don't expect to be punished by having to wait 2 extra days - that's all.
 
I see that the charge is pending on my credit card, however I'm getting exactly what everyone else is getting - my order update doesn't show a tracking number.

I doubt it... I have pre-ordered iPhones in the past... but I will never wait in line on launch day as I'm not a fanboy.

I called two Best Buy's as both were in the process of unloading a truck when I called earlier.

In short, no phone tonight but one store said they are expecting another truck tonight or early tomorrow and if they have it, they will sell it. They did say it is to launch on the 29th.

The Verizon store said they do not have it and he does not know when they will get it.

No doubt there will be a few lucky people with their hands on one tomorrow.

No there is something to it. $300 (or in many cases, including me, $700+) guaranteed to Verizon without product in hand. This isn't an iPhone launch. There aren't going to be lines of people waiting at stores solely for the device. The majority of people who are highly interested in the device preordered it.

Then stop crying about it!

No one is talking about you NOT getting the phone. We are talking about if it will ship on the date promoted by Verizon or earlier.

As I've said before, I hope all of you (even you) get yours early. But if others get theirs before you, don't get upset about it.

And no there are no lines but there appears to be limited supply which increases demand and makes the pre-order even easier and more of a sure bet.

You can't always have your cake and eat it too.
