Verizon Note 2 Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Just got my tracking number.
Good going Verizon...it's shipping right on time.

My only worry is that it has signature required, so I hope I'm home when they come.

That I don't know. I'm assuming, since they are stickers that you can stick them to the keychain to enable it as an NFC tag. You program it as you see fit.

I'm pretty sure you'll have to sign. This is my biggest fear because I'm fresh outta college I'm working and living with my parents. We all get home right around 4 pm so I hope that the FedEx guy does not come before then. I don't want to wait another day or drive to the damn FedEx center, haha.

For my Ground Troops nothing at either Verizon or Bestbuy...i called the four stores in my area. I figured, but with the other posts of the so called availability i tried.

Like they say in my hood....Pics or it didnt happen!

yea im getting super skeptical of the places i called. that fact that nobody has it yet is making me this way. oh well thursday will be a good day!

Same here! Im hoping they are playing dumb to keep the natives from attacking. hope, because if not their ignorance is sad.

It says signature required on my shipment notice so I'm sure that's the case.

I work from home Thursday, but the challenge will be to get to the door in time. It seems like the fedex guy rings the doorbell once then makes a mad dash back to the truck. :)

The downside is you could go to the store at 9am on the 29th and get it quicker than FEDEX will probably get to you.

PS - For the person that asked about keeping the Unlimited Data Plan. There are no 4G unlimited plans. Regardless of whether or not you purchase at Full Retail you would have to go a 4G data plan of which there are 3 for Nationwide Plans and various choices for Share Everything.

No 4G unlimited? Huh? We have unlimited data and plan to have 4G on my note2...

The NFC keychains I bought already have the chip inside and doesn't need a tag attached to it.

That's what my FedEx does, which works fine for packages that don't need signature as he just leaves then inside the outer door. But I am worried he's not going to ring doorbell and leave note. So I am gonna open inner door and leash one of my dogs in the entry area so they will alert me when they see him :)
 
It's pretty annoying to me that Verizon is holding this device back, probably because of the Htc DNA, which isn't even the same type of device IMO. Verizon is such scum.

Scum because they choose to market another more exclusive device first???

Do they highlight a product that is an exclusive only to them...or market a product that every other company sells? It's just smart business practice and I don't fault them for their release schedule.

I'm just happy the picked up the N2 after passing on the N1. I don't mind waiting the extra couple of weeks and I'm glad they they honored their promise to ship on time.

They haven't even issued the press release like they normally do on the Tuesday before a phone launches. It seems like they're hoping this launch goes bad so they can say to Samsung "your phone didn't do that well, so the next time you launch a flagship we're doing it our way." Remember, this is the same carrier that didn't even want the Samsung Galaxy S2, and we know that was because everyone else had it. And now they're imposing their will on Samsung with all the unnecessary branding with the Note 2. It's just Verizon's MO because they're the big bad carrier on the block with the most money and customers, and everything has to go their way. Oh well, I'll have my device in a couple of days and won't care a bit!
