this revision of the 4460 has a major bug where switching DCC off (to switch to lower frequencies) causes crashes. This makes DCC utterly useless, so we're kind of stuck here.

Just out of curiosity, is there an App out there that i can use simply use to benchmark my CPU?
Curious to see the performance of the G Nex compared to say, the RAZR, etc.

Well, there's Linpack and Quadrant that can give you a rough idea / comparison.

Remember though, every device is a smidge different in how the whole package (hardware, software) is combined. Additionally, the Quadrant numbers can be manipulated by certain system settings to give you higher scores than what you've normally see in a stock device.

Running these a few minutes after a fresh reboot also usually gives you a slightly higher score than subsequent runs will.

Your mileage will / may vary, etc.

ive always prefered antutu over quadrant :eek: that said,i think benchmarks are useless,other than maybe observing how making changes on 1 particular device may affect things.

add me to the "not neccessary to OC" list. i think im gonna UC as well... i need to do somethin until i can get some extra batteries :D

I think I saw something about exynos not supporting LTE or having problems with LTE or something so if they picked it we'd all have 3G phones.

Not really. They both use the exact same Cortex A9 CPU and the GPUs are definitely comparable (they trade blows in different graphical tests). Very rarely do I see the Nexus lag unless I'm running some legacy apps or something.

This is exactly right .

In all honestly I am fine with the speed of my phone , I wonder thou if the Snapdragon would have been a better choice . Either way it's a speed demon

Don't forget clock speeds are different by chipset makers. When I was looking up cpu info for my touchpad which has a snapdragon they said the APQ8060 (same as evo 3d/rezound but without phone stuff) had to have higher clockspeeds because the design is old. Even with heavy overclocking it might still be slower than 1.2ghz of the newer chipsets like exynos and 4460 which are both cortex-a9.
 
Idk man I have my zoom at 1.5 ghz and my nexus at 1.3 - 1.4 both in ics and both dual core and I can say my Xoom is just as fast or not faster then my nexus

on the touchpad with 1.9 on both cores, turbo on, performance governor, powersave off, it will benchmark similar to an ipad2...for about $450 less :)

it only gets light use...and i don't keep it at those settings all the time. just when watching a movie or playing a game. normally 1.8 with turbo off, and ondemandtcl governor so one core is off unless it needs it and the other one's chilling at 172hz. also monitor temps.

the homebrew community for webos is unbelievable. kernels run through alpha and beta testing before getting funneled into "uberkernel" which pretty much has 0 bugs. so much more cooperation and less fragmentation than android homebrew (in other words all the devs work on 4 kernels and they all funnel the best and most tested features into 1 kernel).

a few days...it's wifi only, IPS LCD screen, when it gets low just pop it on the touchstone for some wireless charging

before i got he gnex the only device i even thought about battery on was my laptop. everything else battery's a non issue, lol.
 
I would like to see some Kernels get released that have higher slots, my Nexus has digested everything I've thrown at it so far, 1.3 and 1.42 Ghz and pretty agressive UV's.
