Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

It looks like I got burned by Verizon / Chase. I received an email that my order was on hold, followed 15 minutes later by a fraud prevention call from Chase. I guess despite the fact that I have had monthly payments to Verizon for many years they thought that the phone order might be fradulent. I told them it wasnt fradulent and called Verizon back. If i want the phone now I have to re-order and under no circumstances can I keep the unlimited data.

Thanks Chase and Verizon, looks like i will be looking for a new wireless provider and new credit card company.
 
Others have said that VZ is still uploading the phone IDs into there system. I would guess late tonight or tomorrow morning will be go time.

just doesn't make any sense.. get the phone early but can't activate? Might as well just sent them out able to activate.. VZW SRSLY.
 
Ordered mine on 6/6 at 10:30am and mine still says it will ship on the 9th. I did notice it changed from a sentence into an expandable box on their order status page. Can't can't to ditch this droid2....
 
I ordered mine in the store before June 18th. I called today and they told me if you have a ship date of the 10th you'll receive it the 12th or 13th. So pissed off right now. I asked if I could just pick it up in the store and they told me I couldnt without losing my unlimited data.

So basically if you pre-ordered the phone, youre getting it AFTER they have it in the stores.

We know this. But by pre ordering we get to keep our unlimited data. It's a phone. You may want to bring it down a notch.

We just celebrated the fourth of july. It's a free country, nobody is forcing you to stay with verizon.
 
By the way, for in-store preorders questioners, I ordered in Kansas in-store on 6/6 around 1:00 and card was just charged.

Last time I checked, my ship date is the tenth. Finally got a new email from Verizon - to tell me the new inc 4G is available. Ugh.
 
Anyone else get a depressing message from VZW? I open my Gmail app and see I have a new email from VZW. Of course my heart skips a beat thinking they have shipped my S3 (ordered 6/12).

Nope, just an advertisement for the dinc4g LOL.:rolleyes:

Wow, that sucks, especially since I may end up being in the same boat as you!

I would escalate this with Verizon to a Manager and explain the situation in a calm fashion. Bring up the fact that you have an email showing the plan you signed up for (if you have this) for another 2 years. Keep calling until you get someone reasonable enough to take care of you.

I spoke with Verizon twice the last couple of days regarding my problem (an expired debit card) and they said because I brought to their attention and because their system would't let me update my payment information then I now have a leg to stand on if anything happens to my pre-order.

I'm still in limbo as it doesn't look like they've tried to process my order yet <fingers crossed>.

Give it a couple of hours. Mine changed like that between 6:30 and 8am this morning and I got the shipping email at 11:43am CST.
 
Hmmm....

Just checked my account and money is being held in limbo. My balance and AVAILABLE balance are different by the amount of my SGS3 order. Still hasn't exactly left the account yet, but it is set aside.

Okay, these negative posts seem to result in a shipping confirmation, so...

THIS SUCKS! I ordered this thing on 6/6 and still nothing??? :mad:

I was worried about this also, and figured if anything went wrong that is what would happen. Trust me, I would do the same thing. Verizon would lose me. Any day now I am 100% free bird until this phone is in my hands and I keep it.

I feel you pain, I'm sitting in the same boat. 9:30 am on the 6th and noting yet.

Try calling into vzw and talk to a csr. Ask them if it shipped. Like I wrote before. Online never showed tracking or even got a email. So I tried trackibg my order through the phone and it said it shipped. So I called into a csr and confirmed and got my tracking information. Shipped 6am this morning

New to the forum!


I ordered mine on 6/7, got an email yesterday that it's shipped by FedEx 2-day service. I don't know why VZW is shipping some phones overnight and not others. Mine is supposed to be here on Monday. I live in CO near Denver.

i ordered mine in a store. i didnt order online and i got the 2 day shipping too. but it seems like the store employees didnt make it over night shipping. and those that ordered online were getting the over night shipping.
