My tracking number now say my package arrived in Ohio and is out for delivery. Looks like by 3pm is accurate.

Same here. Apparently my phone is vacationing in West Chester, PA. Heres to hoping Fedex forgot to update while changing my 2day to overnight...

Im kinda hoping the same... but really doubt it. At this point, I would just like to see an indication that it is on the move.

Oh well... off to work.

I did a quick unboxing video (not a good quality, but didn't want to try to "redo" it as it wouldn't be the same):
Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 White 16GB Unboxing (Galaxy SIII) - YouTube

I also had the troubles with activation. It basically depends on the rep you get (if you are having trouble). First one told me I couldn't activate until Tuesday lol. Second one had me up in running in about 20 minutes. The activation seems a bit unrefined. He called me on my wife's phone so I could power mine off, then put the sim in the s3. I turned it on and it sat on "Activating", took about 5 min to pop up on his screen, but still said activating on mine, finally he told me to turn it off and back on and it worked great!

Reception so far seems not so good. Areas of my house I often jump between 1x and 3g on my old DX and my wife's 4G Stratosphere (never 4G). My SIII gets no data and just one bar. It has refused to send an SMS as well at home. Wifi solves the data problem, but I hope I'm not missing texts while at home.

On the plus side 4G in the city was amazing, I downloaded apps as fast as i could queue them in the short period of the train ride to work where we're above ground.

I hate the touchwiz launcher, but it it fast and I like the calendar widgets and unread counts on shortcuts. I'm looking into Nova and Apex but they have minor annoyances has well.

Seems my phone is at the FEDEX distribution center right down road from my home....

I called FEDEX to see if I could just swing by and pick it up but come to find out there is this little thing with FEDEX that they have to attempt to deliver at least once and the first attempt isn't going to be until Monday!

Calling CSR to see if they will call FEDEX to release the phone so I can pick it up.

This seems a bit stupid to me.

I did the automated sim card activation over the phone with no problems last night. I was coming from the Droid 1. Phone activated after putting in the activated sim fine. I was scared after reading the board yesterday that I would have issues coming from 3g to 4g.

my blue 16gb is supposed to be here by 3 pm, I got the overnight shipping. Preordered on 6/12. yay

edit: I read it wrong, it says shipping today and delivery on Monday. oh well, at least my case will be here by then.

I hope my 2day shipping becomes overnight all of a sudden :D

I doubt it. Mine was ready to be delivered yesterday (it arrived at the FedEx facility before the trucks left) and I got another tracking update that said it will be held there because it was not scheduled for delivery that day.

Can someone who received their S3 please create a VZW Hands on Thread - please and thank you!!

+1 digging through the hundreds of hourly updates on "I still haven't gotten a notification yet" or the step by step shipping status to find something of interest is getting frustrating. I'd love to see a thread about actual experiences with the vzw version of the phone.

Oh well... off to work.

Finally after +24hrs, the phone is finally moving somewhere. I assume it will be the same for you. Unfortunately it rules out the overnight shipping. :D

Thats what my Verizon page has looked like since my phone shipped. I just use the tracking number Verizon gave me to track the phone via Fedex's website.

That's the process, it means they are beginning to process your order. You should have a tracking number within 12hrs. Most were receiving within a few hours Tuesday night after seeing, mine was about twelve along with others.

I ordered mine on 6/9. My shipping just changed overnight from 7/9 to 7/11.

Maybe since you have been charged you will get it shipped sooner?

Okay here is a good bit of news.

Called the CSR to see if they could call FEDEX to release the phone since it's at the local distribution center but not scheduled for deliver until Monday (grrr). First she told me that it should have been overnighted to me and wasn't sure why it was sent 2nd Day and she would call FEDEX to find out what could be done.

She came back and said that the package is still being sorted but I could go this afternoon and pick it up with the ID and tracking number. Sweet.

So for those with phones in distribution center purgatory call your CSR, have them call FEDEX and waive the first delivery so you can go pick it up if that is what you want to do. Or just sit and wait until next week, I'm sure it's not a big deal or anything since we all have the patience of saints. :D

Hmm.. That's weird because FedEx wont let you pick anything up unless they attempted at least one delivery. Unless the CSR upgraded you to overnight but still.

You are right, FEDEX will not let you do that unless you get the shipper (VERIZON) to redirect the delivery to hold at facility for customer pick up.

I've had to do this with other packages before - not just with phones. You have to get Verizon (or any shipper) to call FEDEX to give authorization for them to hold it at the facility and release it without delivery attempt.

I think I have a change in plans. The back of the phone is a bit slick and being that the thing itself is so thin I think I may buy a gel cover just to make sure it doesn't slip out of my pockets at work. Even the people at work are saying it is way too nice of a phone to not have a case for. Although at home I would definitely not use a case for it. I don't like cases at all.
I will admit that I am a bit worried about one thing. I paid for insurance all these years and never dropped my phones once so when I preordered the S3 I dropped insurance to save an easy $7 every bill. Now I fear breaking it and being screwed. And also I'm not sure if I go to try to get the insurance put back on that they might take that as "changing the plan" and taking my unlimited data away...I even had a nightmare last night that my unlimited data was gone hmpfff
