Part of me says that verizon told me it would ship the 9th when i ordered so I shouldnt be upset yet
The other part sees this guy that ordered more than 2 weeks after me and already has shipping info!! really annoying.
Can anyone answer my credit card question from earlier? At the point of shipping was your credit card actually charged or was it still in a preauth or processing status?
When mine shipped my cc was in preauth. It's an amex though, and processing is slow, or at least what I see online about processing is slow.

6/27 must have been a magical date. Yours is the 2nd one I've seen here to have shipped with a 6/27 order date. Meanwhile I'm twiddling my thumbs here with a 6/20 order. They're making a right mess out of the preorder fulfillment.

I'm stoked. I'm also curious to look at the Inc 4G which would've been my first choice if it was available before 6/28. But the more I look at the S3, the more I think I could get used to the larger form factor.

I'm a little concerned that I haven't received an "official" shipping email from Verizon yet - not real confident this will actually arrive on Monday, as it doesn't appear to have moved in the fedex system either. But I do have tracking number, and have asked for email updates when it does move. Hope everything is working as it should.... but so far my inbox is disturbingly quiet.

Tuesday the latest. They dont ship out over the weekend normally so if it didn't leave on Friday, that means it leave on Monday.

Technically they aren't making a mess out of the preorder. I mean they stated phones would be shipped by the 9th or something at the earliest, right? I guess they think they're ok if they get all the phones out by the day they told us they'd get them out, no matter the order they did it in!

My CC is still in pending limbo and no email from VZW yet, but that trick at least let me know that my Sammy is initiated and awaiting pickup! Shame its not here for the W/E but early next week may still allow me to win the race against the Missus!

ordered 6/21, charged my card last night and just got my shipping email this morning. says delivery on 6/9, standard overnight....im soo geeked right now, the verizon site has been showing ship by 6/11 up until this morning, so thats fine with me.
Do they all come from Memphis though? im in Pittsburgh and I thought there was a distributor in PA
also when it says indirect signatue, on the Fedex site, does that mean you can just leave a note on the door and nobody has to be home?

The devs are working on cracking it. I honestly am not that worried about the bootloader since I was never big into flashing anyway and I will have my nexus 7 to get my fix with the latest software. I am more worried about the phone working out of the box rather than being able to flash all kinds of roms. I think people are blowing this bootloader thing way out of the water. Check out xda and you will see the devs are hard onto it and samsung left much of it open whic should make it much easier than the likes of moto who lock and encrypt everything.

The official Verizon Wireless Return Policy makes no distinction whether opened or not:
Wireless Device/Accessory Return Policy
You may return or exchange wireless devices and accessories purchased from Verizon Wireless within 14 days of purchase. A restocking fee of $35 ($70 for netbooks and tablets) applies to any return or exchange of a wireless device (excluding Hawaii).
No refunds will be granted or returns accepted after 14 days, if the card has been used, if the coating on the card has been scratched off, or if your account has been initialized.
That said, there are probably exceptions, but they would be just that, exceptions that I wouldn't rely on, certainly without getting written confirmation first.

Rooting does not equal flashing ROMs. xda has stuff about roots which is not affected by a locked bootloader as far as I know. A locked bootloader will check for Samsung installed system like touch wiz and will brick the phone if it is not found. So for people like me that were going to flash a touch wiz free jelly bean as soon as it came out will be extremely difficult to do now. Developers will still work on it, but it will most likely brick many devices and be buggy. Some one correct me if I am wrong, but that's my understanding of it.
And people are not blowing this out of water because Verizion's S3 is the only one in the world with a locked bootloader for no reason. From what I have heard Verizion asked Samsung to lock the bootloader on their phones.

Try it yourself first. I did exactly what the paper told me to do. I put the sim in the phone as well as my sd card. Everything powered off. I called from my Fascinate the 1800 number and gave them my pin for my account. It activated my sim and told me to turn my S3 on. Turned it on and went through the normal Android set up...Whole thing took 4-5 minutes and no hassles. Just try that first. And that was even on the 5th when they were having activation issues. So I think you will be ok

Same here! Except my delivery date is Tuesday. We both order on the same day and pay the same price, but you get overnight shipping and I get two day. Oh well. I'm glad it was easy to root, too, since I missed the window of cancelling my preorder without having to pay the restocking fee.
Tuesday gives me time to get it set up for my long trip too. What mixed feelings. I really want to leave verizon because of their shenanigans, but I also really want this phone, and i'm locked in for my unlimited date for another two years now.
What to do? If I return it I'm stuck with verizon for only one more year and I can save a lot of money with T-Mobile and get both me and the wife SGS III's at the discounted rate.
