Who wants to be in my shoes? Ordered 5 hours into the first day, still nothing on my phone, and tomorrow I've got to go out there and deliver SIIIs to other people!

Does anybody know what we should do to activate? I read the instructions for do it yourself with the sim card. I never had a sim so that is new to me. My phone is almost here, only an hour away =), and when I activate it later I would like to just do it myself but I am afraid of the unlimited data thing. I have the email and everything that shows unlimited data on my new plan. I think with that I should be able to just do it myself and if something goes wrong then I could go to the store and show them the email...Any thoughts on this? If I can't do it myself and keep the unlimited then I can't activate my phone until after 5 on Friday. It will just be here for a day and a half not being used =(
I'm a little concerned that I haven't received an "official" shipping email from Verizon yet - not real confident this will actually arrive on Monday, as it doesn't appear to have moved in the fedex system either. But I do have tracking number, and have asked for email updates when it does move. Hope everything is working as it should.... but so far my inbox is disturbingly quiet.
eta - Fedex says it's "On Schedule," guess I will have to trust that it is!
This happened to me and my order was dropped from their system. They said the proof that my order wasn't even really placed was that I also didn't get an email. You should make your way into a store quickly and make sure your order is still valid. They're honoring my unlimited data plan because I still have a copy of the original invoice and contract I signed for the phone but now I have to wait until the 11th before it will ship for me. So I'm just set back a few days. I'm a bit disgruntled at Verizon but if they fix it then I will stay with them for the next two years.
I wish I could get that FedEx tracking trick to work for me. Errrrr.
I have a seven digit location number and a six digit order number. I was charged yesterday morning and Verizon just tells me it will ship on the 10th and be overnighted. I think the CSR is making that up. If it wasn't shipping until the 10th, they should have charged me early yesterday morning.
I switched to those little plus signs on my order status yesterday morning as well. Hmmmmm.

Logistics, does FedEx have it figured out or not? I assume they do. It would be interesting to see the delivery routes they use to get our phones to us. My phone has been making trips up north (West Chester PA --> Coatesville --> Linwood --> Newark NJ), and will eventually be delivered to central VA tomorrow.
It would be an awesome graphic to see how the phones originate at one location and then branch out into our grubby, needy hands... A montage would be awesome.
BTW, has anyone else been suppressing the urge to say That's what she said on some of the comments on this thread?
yes you do, they charge it as a bs "restocking fee" opened or not.
I think so. I use micro-usb chargers from previous devices to charge my DX, and my son uses my DX charger to charge his Bionic when he visits. About the only issue would be how fast they charge, and you can figure that by looking at the mAh output rating marked on the charger. I prefer the 1A models, but also use lesser ones like 700 mAh. It just takes longer using those.
It's like magic or voodoo or something - as soon as you post that your phone didn't ship, you get an email saying it did!
My phone still hasn't shipped....

Verizon cannot get their stories straight. One rep says it will ship on Tuesday, the other says it shipped out Friday and I'll get it Monday.
Neither have a tracking number for me.

Just got off phone with Verizon rep and she said there is nothing wrong with my June 14th order causing it to not being shipped yet, but she added a new wrinkle by saying the Colorado fires have disrupted the fulfillment process for some west coast customers, and that if I still hadn't heard anything new by the promised ship date of July 10 that I should recheck with her.
When I check my order status the space for a tracking number now has a plus sign right next to it that you can click on. Is this a good sign? My card has still not been charged.
I am in on the west coast. Pre-ordered on the 20th. Got my tracking number and it is in transit already, and will be arriving by 3pm monday.
What is your pre order stuff say when you check the status?
