i'm on a family line my phone is the primary line and has a upgrade, but my other line is due for a upgrade on the 28th. If I upgrade my primary line and keep my unlimited data and keep my family plan then upgrade my secondary line on the 28th will I loose my unlimited data and family plan?

Oh, and I just checked my order status and I finally have a ship date!
"Expected Ship Date: 08/19/4370" Yay! I can't wait!

Not fair, looks like you are going to get yours before mine. When I look today it says "Expected Ship Date: Not available at this time." :(

No. The family plan is tied to the primary account, and unlimited data is linked only to your number. It wont be effected by changes to the 2ndary number

I am pretty sure you will lose it.

I went to the Verizon store and the rep told me my unlimited data would not be grandfathered because the phone will be activated after the 28th. I called Verizon and was told I would be grandfathered in because I pre-ordered prior to the 28th. She said our conversation would be in my file in case I ever have to revert back to it. I just pre-ordered online and selected my current unlimited data plan. If they try and screw me with the new plan I'll just walk away. I'm on an old Alltel plan that's better than anything they offer.

I should call in! I wonder if they will move up my upgrade, but I know they are going **** me one way or the other

I just upgraded and renewed my shared plan. Each phone has their own features. For example: I have 500 txts and unlimited vz to vz texts while my other line has 1000 texts total. The unlimited data is tied to your line only. You are only sharing minutes (and txts if you don't have individual plans).

I love the new share plans for Verizon.... but I'm an ATT user that is switching to VZW. Been holding out for Razr HD but now want the SGS3 since it will be out first as my Motorola Backflip is painful to use. Since I wouldn't be getting unlimited data either way I'll just go to a share plan with one line and 4Gb of data per month will be plenty for me. This will all cost about $10 more than I would have paid on the current plans for only 2Gb of data BUT now I'll have unlimited talk and text. When the entire rest of your family is on Sprint the minutes add up so unlimited is nice. Currently on ATT I have any mobile unlimited and use alot talking to family so nice that VZW finally got on board with the unlimited text/talk minutes. It's going to make my switch all the less painful.... now to decide SGS3 or hold out for RAZR HD..... in any case I can relax as I have till the 28th before I'm making a move now.

Is verizon allowing you to do that? I thought these new prices were only for SHARED plans meaning you need to have at least 2 lines. VZW still will have single line pricing (which I dont think is changing)

Yes, these new plans have been shown to typically offer a better value to people desiring unlimited minutes already.

But just to point out one thing with your calculations, you can actually pay the same price using the old and new pricing structures (with 2gb of data). I suspect you were calculating the old system with $20 per month for unlimited texts which can be handled over data.

Current Plan:
Unlimited minutes: $70
2GB of Data: $30
Texts (unlimited can be handled with Google Voice, using minimal data, and saving $20 per month!)
Total $100

New Plan
Cost for 1 Smart Phone: $40
Cost for 2GB data plan: $60
Total = $100

When I went to the Verizon site: ttp://solutions.vzwshop.com/shareeverything/ and did the Share Everything Plan tool I was able to put that I have 1 smart phone 0-1500 minutes, 0-2000 texts, and 2-5Gb of data, I use less than 2Gb now but never know with a phone that actually can do videos and data stuff I could use more and with a 4G LTE phone once I move into a 4G area I just wanted to be safe so I put 2-5Gb. Recommended plan was the share everything with 4Gb of data for $110. Thus I'm assuming I'll be able to do it with just one line. I can't see them offering these unlimited text and talk plans and not allowing individual consumers to have access to a similar structure/options. Guess I'll see as I've not been a VZW customer ever before.

Still I'm a bit excited. VZW will cost me more per month but I'll be glad to part ways with ATT.

Mine used to say that, but I checked it this morning and it's changed! Now I can set my countdown clock!

May want to mention that you preordered the phone in your will so your great(x1000) grand children can fly in and pick it up.

Never done the texting with Google voice... might have to look into that cause I could probably get by with 900 minutes and 5 friends and family and save another $20... which I was offsetting before with unlimited texting or even doing just $10 for 1000. Then figured go up to the new share plan with unlimited talk and text and pay $100 which is what I pay on ATT now. I'm going to be curious, my current company discount only applies to the phone plan, but not on text or data, so possibly get larger discount with share plan that could make decision differentiator also. Either way I'm holding out till the SGS3 hits the stores and I can hold one and see what the reviews are on the phone reception/radios. I basically travel between one rural part of the state to another so I need something with good phone service. My guess is the SGS3 won't drop till the 28th now so I'll just wait and inquire once I know it's in stores about the phone and the plans.

I get a different date based on day/time and maybe even all upper case or first caps only format for last name.

System is strange.

Just got off the phone with them they let me move up my other line for a upgrade, but told me can't pre order the GS3 due over pre order stock what ever that means! I can order a other 4g phone for now, but I have to wait till the GS3 comes in stock with in the 30 days of return.

Just so you know, Verizon is only 14 day return period, not 30.
