I just got Verizon to note in my account over the phone that I will keep unlimited if I go to best buy

This is what I see now when I try to do anything to my plan. I can't actually click the radio button to select.

Yep same here except my phone is a Galaxy Nexus.

If you selected to keep your same sim card as I did(which holds all of your account information) You would simply place you sim card into the new phone then activate yourself. It should read what is on your sim card and activate the phone based on your sim card info. You should be all set after that. Verizon's website says you can swap the sim card freely between any 4g device without any issues. This works great for me as I already have a Galaxy Nexus. I don't see any issues here and I don't see why we would need to call to activate.

I think people are getting this online because of the GS3 (pre)order. I get it too

This is certainly the case. If you roll over I think a "question mark (?)" on that page it gives you a brief description of why you can't select that line.

Do you have an internal document stating the launch date is the 9th? I have yet to see an official launch date. Any article listing the 9th as the release date is just going by the shipping date on the Pre Order. Verizon is the only carrier that has not confirmed a date yet.

Nope, the only date we have is that we're stopping all pre-orders on the 17th. That goes for all carriers.

I pre ordered mine in white. If I like the blue more when it comes out, can I swap phones and keep my unlimited data. When I pre ordered I signed a new two year contract with unlimited.

They use different size similar cards tho. It told me when i ordered the sgs3 my RAZR maxx similar wouldn't work.

When I pre ordered on VZW.com, it told me that my sim card from my Thunderbolt was not compatible and that they would be sending me a new one for the S3.

So after a week of feeling left out of all the funny expected ship dates, Verizon finally updated mine from saying not available at this time to: 3/29/2772. At least its on my birthday, 700 years from now :D

WELCOME to the forums, Pigeon! I hope you enjoy your stay - you appear to have a lot of time to spend here (some 700 years). Take good vitamins so you can eventually enjoy your phone! :p

I've already pre-ordered my S3 and was eligible under the "new every 2" promotion. My wife needs a new phone but is locked in to her Droid Pro until at least next January. The guy at the VZW store told me to add a line for $10/mo and I could purchase her the iPhone for $199. So I did. I can transfer that phone to her existing phone number and keep unlimited data. But the third line will require data package since it's Droid, correct? Is the solution simply to find an old VZW flip-phone (no data package required) and swap that w/her Droid pro on the new line? Thanks!

Marty McFly here...Doc Brown just tuned up the DeLoren & were off to get our S3's.

I was originally wanting the HTC Incredible 4G LTE. Really wanted a 4" phone. But...
Pre-ordered the 16gb blue. The You tube videos got me.
I was/am concerned about the size but I currently have a Droid Charge.

Charge 5.11H x 2.66W x 0.46D
GS3 5.4H x 2.8W x 0.3D

I think I'll live.

i think the flatness helps negate some of the increased height and width.

Yeah, do that. I did. :)

This is a big deal. I (like a couple others have posted) were planning on checking out the AT&T version in person before deciding on pre-ordering. It looks like that's out the window...

Samsung's page says it uses a micro sim which is the same as the Razr Maxx.

I'm not waiting to call Verizon. I am going to pull my sim card right out of my Maxx and put it into my S3. It should fire right up as it did when I switched from the Gnex to the Maxx.

They use different size similar cards tho. It told me when i ordered the sgs3 my RAZR maxx similar wouldn't work.

After talking with my brother (currently owns 5 Wireless Zone VZW franchises) he said that the unlimited plans will go away but he actually prefers the new plans because they did away with the 29.99 data plans and you just share data for all phones on your plan. This is good bc I can activate my gt7 and just share 8gb months between my wife and my smartys. He basically eluded to having as many data lines as you want just have to share the data. If this is accurate it will actually be better cost wise for my monthly bill.
Prove it, please. I started a thread asking people making these statement to show us the savings. I think you will find you are wrong. Because, yeah, they did away with the $29.99 data charge and replaced it with a $70 charge, which is how much you now pay for two phones sharing the exact same amount of data as two $29.99 lines. So I'd like to see where your savings is coming from. Or did your brother put you up to posting this?

I thought i read you have to pay $30 per month for each device on the plan ontop of the data charges. Not a very good plan if you ask me.

Just checked my order status and its still saying not available. Im starting feel a little left out of this whole having a 700 year expected date thing. :dontknow:
