Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

I'm just hoping the announcement video and speculation is accurate and it will be released before the Olympics. I'm HOPING next month but July is probably more likely. What I really want is this to be released before VZW does away with their grandfathered data plans.

I switched to AT&T from Verizon for my Galaxy Note, but if Galaxy S3 will be available on Verizon, I would definitely switch back to Verizon.

VZW needs a flagship phone sooner than later and the inc 4g shouldn't be it. Inc might get the bulk of the advertis, ing dollars, but its not a flagship. Here's hoping the sg3 fills that gap soon.

VZW definitely needs a new flagship. In my opinion, the Galaxy Nexus is too old at this point to be their flagship and I can't think of anything being released since then. The Incredible 4G has no where near flagship specs, which is very disappointing to me as I still have the OG Incredible and would consider that a flagship back in the day.

Verizon is consistently the last or among the last carrier to get any new phone. If they carry the GS3, which is a big IF, we won't see it probably until Christmas. Chances are, my unlimited data plan will be gone long before that. My contract is up in a couple months. It will be the perfect time for me to switch to AT&T to get the GS3.;)

I'll be going to sprint if vzw takes my unlimited plan before I can get a GS3 on it, thats for sure. I may do it out of principle anyway, especially if sprint gets the gs3 first.

I'd go with Sprint if the coverage is the same for you as Verizon for sure.

I recently broke my GNex in a drunken rage, it turns on but the screen is shattered along with the frame, no a shining moment but hey it happens, so I wen't back to my back up fascinate(which I hate) and I have to agree with the last few posts, if VZW takes my unlimited data away I will go to Spring again or even TMobile.

I thought when I went to reactivate my Fasc when it asked me to pick my data plan it was forcing me to pay the monthly capped usage fee but then realized it still showed my unlimited option.

Now I wonder if I try and go back to an LTE phone will it try to take my unlimited away again? Guess I should try it to see.

All in all pretty excited about this phone since I've destroyed my Gnex lol.

EDIT: When trying to reactivate my SIM it tells me it cannot be reactivated at this time and to call customer support. Not looking good for me and VZW.

I agree with the first part anyway. If the plans change before the S III comes out, I'm out, just on principal. Between my girl and I, we rarely use 2gb a month combined, but I helped make VZW what they are today. So if the S III is delayed, I'm off to Sprint and the EVO 4G LTE, which will hopefully by outta Customs soon.

Verizon is not the only CDMA carrier. Unless you see bands listed for CDMA then we still don't know much. I would be shocked if they don't get it, but Verizon has been dumb about non droid phones and allowed opportunities to pass them by.

It has been reported that the sch i535 is the Verizon version. I'm sure it is.

Wells all indications point to VZW carrying the phone, now all we need is release date information. Hoping it's soon!

This may be the only high end device to come before I can no longer keep my unlimited data anymore and have to upgrade. I've never owned a Samsung phone before, much less smart phone. I doubt the reception issues are the same, that's not my worry. I have always thought those four icons at the bottom were ugly, but with ICS it's not looking like that anymore. Sure, the galaxy phones always look cheap and plastic, but so does my Rezound with the gel cover!

I want a true "upgrade" if I have to do it in order to keep unlimited. I don't want a 6 month old phone as an upgrade. Besides the fruit phone (if it was LTE and a bigger screen), I don't see anything that will last two years or until I can save up for a full priced phone if not this one.

The Incredible 4G LTE is medium range, not what I want.

I read an article that It was almost confirmed. It's just amazing how GS3 will be available at Verizon.

I'm excited about it also, but have reservations on VZW though.
1) How much will the design change? I hope it stays the same. I like it, just not a huge fan of the color.
2) How much bloat will it have?
3) Will it be unlocked for ROMs like other SIII are?
4) How long will VZW make us wait to get our hands on one? I hope to purchase via retail Amazon if VZW allows us to keep unlimited data if we don't use a contracted discount price. If the SIII shows up before to grandfather in my Unlimited Data Plan, I'm in at $300 or even $350. Retail will have to be under $700.

I agree with Serpa. I'm hoping it releases before the new plans. The design I'm fine with esp since I usually throw a case on it but I could do without the middle home button, though I think I'm in the minority in that. The color's I'm fine with and I hope it will be able to be unlocked. I'm SURE it will be overloaded with bloat and suspect a $300 price tag, which I can deal with.

The more I read the more I want the GSIII. I really just wish it had the quad core proc

I felt the same way, but on reflection, it would almost certainly require a separate LTE chip, and any battery life savings from the Quad will be eaten up by the inefficiencies of the separate chips, and then some.

I may decide to order this online as long as I can keep my unlimited. What happens if I order it before the deadline to keep unlimited, but after shipping, I don't get down to Verizon to activate it until after the deadline? Also, I will probably want to order it by putting the cost on my next bill, sell my current phone and pay the extra amount with that money, I've done that before. Is that possible online?

So true! And if its anywhere as bad as my GNex, then what's the point!

Does the unlimited plan after your 2year plan unless you renew/get a new phone?
