Well actually Verizon, I think, wants to ship as soon as they can. They cannot charge any ones credit card till the merchandise ships. So the sooner it ships the faster they get their money. Just my opinion.

Does anyone think Apple would tolerate the pre-order incompetence that Verizon is showing, with order dates thousands of years in the future? Jobs would have kicked ass. It is a disgrace and an insult to buyers. Verizon needs a CEO with some ba--s.

incorrect comparison.

youre saying the samsung ceo needs to man up and tell VZW to get on this release. dont think samsung would do that.

Anyone know if FedEx will leave it on your doorstep or if Verizon ships phones with signature required?

I have left a note with my signature, tel# etc and asked for my packages to be left behind the house and they always have (this has been with both FedEx/UPS).

Me too. I live in the sticks though so the driver's will bend the rules not to drive out multiple times... :D

I am now wondering if they are waiting to get the business version of the phone so they can release them at the same time in the store. From a corporate consumer perspective this makes sense so employers and employees can compare the device. Any one have any thoughts on the business version of this phone?

There is only one version which is the "business" version.

Or your driver is a reasonable person...

Oh and I forgot for those of you that were afraid the pebble blue was going to look greyish, I have been advised its beautiful! I wish had gotten that now instead of white. I was afraid it was going to look some grey color after a few months. But apparently it holds my well. My GF has seen the blue and the white and she says both are beautiful especially the blue. My buddy lives in england has the blue and the polycarbonate is holding up well against the dirt. Good choice guys

This wasn't the case a couple of years ago when we got out Droid Incredible's - VZW charged our card right of the bat but still didn't deliver until nearly a month later...

Samsung Galaxy S III gets enterprise-friendly version in the US, wears a Pebble Blue business suit - Engadget

It says the SAFE version is not coming til July, and since it's being released on some carriers in June, they definitely are different.

Our version does not come until July that is why I am wondering if they are waiting to release both versions at the same time. My understanding is they are 2 different phones. The Buisness version has built in encryption and VPN. I do not believe them to be the same phone.

It probably has to do with how many orders they can process through FedEx per day. I would guess that FedEx can only handle a certain number of phones per region per day without impacting their normal business.

Phffff, FedEx has the Apple and Verizon accounts, and neither of them have "gone easy" on us on launch dates. FedEx gets EVERYTHING a company ships out. We do usually get a warning (inbound piece count) and staff accordingly.

Anyone know if FedEx will leave it on your doorstep or if Verizon ships phones with signature required?

As others have said, Verizon shipments are ISR (Indrect Signature Required). This means either you have to be home to sign for the shipment, you can leave a signed, dated note asking FedEx to leave the shipment, a neighbor can sign, or the apartment office can sign. Leave the signed, dated note where the FedEx driver can take it with them. They will not leave the shipment if they can not take the signed note (locked inside a storm door, etc.)

All I can say is I pre-ordered day one with a credit card. Received all the confirmation emails etc. and have not been charged yet.

Anyone know why Verizon is the last carrier to get the S3? Is it a Verizon penalty from Samsung for not selling the S2 :)

Haha I am not sure there is a single 1 reason. I think a huge part of is the shared data plans. They wanted to make sure those are in place and working properly before activating thousands of in store activations. You can imagine the nightmare if the launched the S3 the same day as these plans or shortly after and it they were not working or billing right.

Secondly the Verizon phone will support global roaming they wanted to make the sure the infrastructure is there and working correctly before the launching the device. Making sure the global roaming update easier for customers and themselves down the road. Those are my 2 biggest theories.

Third. Verizon takes forever testing and adding bloatware to phones :(

Those are my 3 reasons for the delay in launch.
