Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Dude that sucks, I would call back tomorrow morning just to have them clarify the order number and and pre order number is correct. Or call back tonight. If you have not already done so.

Actually they shipped me a SIM card for whatever reason. Bummer--got all excited for nothing.

There is no reason to believe it will ship earlier than they stated.

i understand that but think about it july 4th is on a Wednesday so they gotta either ship before or after because shipping will be delayed due to holiday so i would think by next week we will know something even if the phone doesnt end up arriving at my doorstep until after the 9th.

oh trust me i been calling every day there's notes there in my account of my repeated calls , if i don't get the phone i will walk to a vzw store with the print out of the email and demand they keep their promise if they don't i will c/x on the stop in front of everyone since my contract is done by the 15th. the i will probably either go to Sprint or T-mobile...probably just sprint.
 
If I learned anything about Verizon from the Galaxy Nexus launch, it's "DON'T BELIEVE ANY RUMORS!!!"

While I'm hopeful that the early pre-orders will ship prior to July 9th, I'm doubtful that I will actually see the phone anytime soon. And I can almost guarantee that there is no way any VZW customer's will see this phone next week, let alone prior to July 5th.

The GNex launch was hyped up so much and the rumor mill was flying high, but the official release came weeks after most people's guestimates. Some really "connected" bloggers were made to look foolish with their predictions about the launch.

So my advice is to stick with Verizon's date of July 9th/10th/11th or whatever the official day is and save yourself the aggravation. The worst thing that can happen is that you're pleasantly surprised if you get an early package in the mail.

Excellent advice.... I am still bitter about that GNex launch.

It will ship on July 3rd because that is the next full moon.

My email confirmation states the phone will ship by 7/9. Until Verizon decides to tell us otherwise, there is no reason to believe it will ship any sooner than that.

I was so excited about the GNex launch, but the constant rumors and "delays" were too much of a roller coaster and then the excitement totally subsided. I ended up buying a Rezound instead, which was probably motivated out of spite. I eventually ended up getting a GNex too :)! But now I'm back on my old Droid X and patiently awaiting my SGS3. I'm trying hard not to get sucked into the hype!

i am wondering why doesnt vzw do the pre orders like the droid x , i remember pre ordering the day before and getting it at my door the next day. alot of people didnt get the phone on launch date but they where able to get them a few days later, but then again this is vzw and i remember alot of people stuck on a waiting list for the droid incredible

i too rented a rezound... and might have kept it if the devs could have gotten S-off within that time. I tell you though, as pissed as I was pre-release ... i was giddy like a little kid marching into VZW that Thursday morning. Now here i am less than 8 months later trying to dump the gnex.... i am a sheep... lol an android sheep... there ... I said it

I was second in line at the Verizon store the day the X launched, and would have done the same thing with this phone if not for that damned unlimited data expiration date. They took all the fun out of launch day with that!
 
I know this has been covered to some extent already but, the original "ship by date" was July 9th so if they ship by the 9th then what day so we expect stores Best Buy included to have them for sale?

This is what I'm thinking too. It looks very good PR wise to be able to ship them early and this is why they have the later date so they can make themselves look good against the competition. "Hey, no stock problems here! We even shipped early to some customers!"

You must not follow many Verizon releases if you think this is their plan.
