I think the evidence points to the phone being canceled on Verizon, just like the GS2.

ok guys i would say it is safe to assume the GS3 is coming in 2 weeks so for those who wanted to know when the phone will ship , 2 weeks (add a day depending on when you pre ordered)
Ima add this to my signature to save time.
I really hate Verizon to begin with and this delay isn't helping. But they could redeem themselves somewhat if they were fixing the cell standby bug before giving this phone out. All I'm asking for is 18 hours of moderate usage and a few hours worth of screen time.
This thread clearly shows the decline of civilization.

Lol... VZW didn't carry the GS2 because it had exclusivity rights to the GNex

id be more irritated about the inc 4g release. due in "the coming weeks" turned out to be 2 months (july 5). lol.
at least they gave us the july 9 date at the point of pre-order.

That doesn't make any sense, they accepted pre-orders and who know how many millions they shelled out for advertisements... Verizon wouldn't back out of a business deal with Samsung after after it was announced into the market. That would mean a bad relationship with the two companies.
Okay, who is going to point out the obvious here.

Theres a rumor going around that on the 28th, you'll be able to go into your local VZW store and smash a pinata open to win an S3. Unfortunately, if you lose, a weasel pops out and attacks you.
Pretty simple. Take the phrase "Ship By Date of June 6", removed the part where it says "June 6" and substitute "July 9" in it's place. Then you have the phrase "Ship By Date of July 9".I am not sure where everyone is getting the "ship by" words, my conformation email (amending VZN error) states:
"[FONT="]Unfortunately, our original confirmation email to you contained an incorrect Ship By Date of June 6; the actual ship date for your order is July 9."
which tells me my SG3 will ship on 7/9 and I will receive it on 7/10-7/11.

What delay? I just checked my calendar and it's not July 9th yet.I really hate Verizon to begin with and this delay isn't helping. I hope the outrage over this statement stretches out for at least 20 more posts, and no one else recognizes this obvious (but successful) attempt to further stir the pot of discontent.

Besides, there are many of us who did not receive the June 6th error confirmation email.
The words "ship by" appear no where in the email.
