I would agree with you, IF the actual phone resembled those pics in any way. In fact, I do agree, since I ordered a blue one based on similar pics. It doesn't resemble the pics, unfortunately. Not even close. You'll see.

I got back from a Sprint store about an hour ago and saw both the blue and white versions side by side. I didn't find anything wrong with the white version, but the blue version stood out between the 2 as far as I am concerned. The screen was great and definitely a step up from my Galaxy Nexus. It was fast going between the various home screens and both the app and widget drawer. Very happy with my choice of blue and now I'm just waiting on Big Red to email me my delivery confirmation since my case has already arrived.

In the end, the color for me is not a gating item, particularly since I am not planning on going bare. None of my other phones even had a choice :D

Certainly appreciate all the different opinions, particularly since there is no right or wrong answer.

I kind of wish they would have went with the black like on the galaxy note. It is weird they choose to not have black. I also wish they had the red on more than just at&t. I never had a red phone and think it would look good on the sgs3. Such is life lol.

Agree I played with one today and the blue looked nothing like those pictures. It is weird it can look so different in so many pics and videos.

From what I have read, the "pebble blue" color appears to vary widely based on the lighting conditions (e.g. pink lighting @ T-Mobile which makes it look purple), which in some respects makes it more interesting.

For instance, my "green" RAV4 and "blue" Miata also appear to look different based on the lighting conditions.

Another thing affecting my decision.... I have two NAS boxes at home that I see each day, one white (Synologic ds211j) and one black (Acer H240). Really favor the darker cases :D

Not sure what Samsung is thinking...

My current Samsung Omnia 2 (WM 6.5) was only available in red, but I never notice it much (particularly since it was darker, holstered and don't look at the back much :)):

Still can't figure out how Big Blue ended up with Red instead of Big Red :)

I don't worry too much about getting my phone delivered after they are available in stores. The most important thing about pre-ordering is to secure my unlimited data plan. :)

My thoughts exactly. If it weren't for securing unlimited data I think I'd still be sticking with my OG Incredible.

I do wanna order a white case for the blue S3 to make sure I don't prefer it, but not sure I want to spend an extra $10-$15 to find out. My gnex is in a white case and it looks great with my all black wallpaper and all white icons. I'll make my final decision once my phone arrives, but was leaning blue before handling both, now leaning white.

Gonna use it everyday, so you want to be happy with it or it will drive you nuts :D

Exactly why I was "forced" to upgrade. Would have stayed longer with my Samsung Omnia 2 (WM 6.5/3G), but this was my last chance to jump to a subsidized 4G phone while maintaining my unlimited data.

I know I mean verizon is big red and they can't even get an exclusive on that color. I could see if the blue was just for at&t but who knows what samsung was thinking lol

The home button lag is due to Siri. Disable the Siri option linked to the home button and the lag is gone. Instantaneous after that.

Not me, my Incredible is on it's last legs, and I can't stand this low storage space message that you get on it.

I wanted the Droid fighter, but the S3 should be much better than the Incredible.

I just wanted to throw my two cents in.

I called Verizon yesterday and asked when my phone will be arriving. I preordered day one and the pushed back dates online scared me. The rep I had very confidently told me, that I would be receiving my phone on July 9th, the date that showed up when I preordered the phone. She said that is the very latest as I could be getting it a day or so early via the mail.

I know these reps most likely don't know a thing, but they were extremely confident in their answer. So, here is to waiting patiently like a child, hoping it makes it to my mailbox before Friday.

I've just gotta put my .02 in here. All this discussion over the color, and yet you are going to cover it up with a case the instant it arrives. :D

Not to mention the "matching" factor - they have to look just right!!

Which is why the white appeals to me now....

That would be really cool! Mine says shipping "by" July 12th. Maybe mine will show up early too. :)
