I could see if you were able to get google search from the market but you cant even do that. shame... you are still able to get maps though.
^^^ ThisNow this bing business. I cringe to think of bing as the default search engine for a google based phone. Its like an elevator in an outhouse....it just doesnt belong.
OKAAY?
Off topic....
Don't care.
Wait did someone just say Bing is a better search engine? Even microsoft won't call it a search engine anymore, they gave up on that and now call it a decision engine or something silly.
The thing is I've used Verizon for 12 years now (wow, I can't believe it'd been that long!), and living in a big city, we have plenty coverage from all the big carriers. If they don't release a Google Experience phone by the time my contract is up, I'm out! Given this will be another year or so, but still, I'm not dealing with the bloats$$t they put on everything else. If I have to move to TM or Sprint, so be it. I love Android and Android only. The recent article on Engadget really struck a chord in me:
Entelligence: Will carriers destroy the Android vision? -- Engadget
Exactly. I'm in New York City. I could get virtually identical coverage with any carrier, and it would cost less too. I read that Engadget article last night and I feel the same way. Hell, even Google does, I heard them say something about Gingerbread making manufacturer skinning "unnecessary". Hear that, even Google doesn't want your BS.
Well, Motorola has taken their shit MOTOBLUR away. Samsung still has its "different" layout on its Android phones; it isn't Home. They need to do away with Sense. Every phone HTC has made without Sense has gone on to do very well. The Nexus One, MT3G, and the G1 which started it all. Take a hint.
Screw the iPhone, I'm getting a Streak!
The Streak isn't Google Experience either, is it? And 5" is a little too much in a phone, and I always say that I want a huge phone. Maybe 4.5-4.7", but 5" is just huge. It needs to fit in my pockets.
No, it's skinned by Dell, but it looks okay to me. I'm just frustrated with Verizon. I left At&t to get a droid. Now I have a phone that won't work overseas, is on a slower network than my wife's Captivate, and I can't talk on the phone and look up something on the net at the same time. The Droid is an awesome phone, but VZW's network strangles it. All my pants have cargo pockets, so no worries about it fitting in a pocket for me. I think 5" is about as big a phone as I would go though. I used to carry an Apple Newton, it's a bit too big.
When will Verizon learn? The nickels and dimes they can make from people that aren't crafty enough to unlock the devices that they locked down pale in comparison to the millions they made on Droid sales.
