[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

Anyone else having MMS come through low res? I had a buddy send me a few pics and both were pixelated and shitty quality. Next I sent one from my wifes iPhone4 and it came through the same? Ideas?

What kernel are y'all running? I'm looking for a good one for battery life...not as satisfied with lean kernel on this ROM as on CNA. Battery life's an important factor for me...

EDIT: I've seen some people say Franco's is best, some say leankernel but I don't seem to be doing great with it. Anyone using Franco or anything with really great battery life? I see some people getting like 7 more hours than me

Looking for the same thing. Flashed today using lean kernel. Battery life is pretty bad. But knew this going into gnex anyway.

If anyone knows of a decent kernel I'm interested too.

Thanks.

Have a small bug to report. Using power saver mode to turn data and wifi off with screen off, wifi doesn't report correct signal strength. My wifi signal in status bar is empty reporting no signal but when you go to wifi setting it shows full and I can browse normally. Signal will only reappear on reboot.

Also seems to take too long to get cellular data back after screen on.

i am having a problem listening to bluetooth music in my car with this rom. It connects fine, but music stutters really bad.

Data/power saver feature has always been a work in progress as Roman uses the GSM version of the GN so he's relied on us, the CDMA users, to test this feature for him. First iterations just about broke your phone lol so it has come a long way. I don't use it personally as my battery life is no issue.

Thanks for reporting it I know having data drop to 3G while screen is off will be a big power saver when it works 100%. It does work perfectly, I read, on the GSM version. Probably some hand off issues with the VZ network.

I have not seen anyone report this I need to read more over at rootz before I reply regarding it.

Did you do a full wipe before flashing 17? What kernel, stock?

Lean 1.6.0, 1.6.1, & even 1.6.4 (though not as bad) have had battery drain issues. Try flashing 1.6.6

I have seen some report about this. Have you investigated it any further at the rootz forum?

Anyone having data issues on this rom?

Never, unless trying to use the power saver feature. Are you on 17? Full wipe before flashing it?

Okay all...back to update on what I am seeing on M2 with leankernal....flashed the 4.0.3 radios from the link in the op....last night I ran the phone down to 4% on the battery turned the phone off and lard in on the charger for just shy of 6 hrs while I slept. Now here it is about 2 hours into my day. Hers are 2 screen shots of what I am seeing. First thing to note...did not access maps this morning, and 2nd thing to note....I had only had the screen on for about 15 min since it was unplugged. Any suggestions? TIA

I havent yet no was awaiting a response from you before doing anything. One thing I should add is that I have loaded the Black Exodus theme as well, this could potentially be the problem. Let me see if I can load back the default theme somehow and test. Will update asap.

Just flashed 1.6.6 at work here, could not wait till tonight lol.

I had two data drops yesterday at home. Where at I had zero service. I did not notice it when I was on stock rooted unlocked etc, but I may just have missed it if it happened on the first day I had it (Saturday).

It did not last for long, but it did happen. I also know there are radio and signal issues with this phone, so not sure if it was the phone or the rom/kernel that I have installed. Will see what today brings.

Thanks again. :)

EDIT: Forgot to ask. Is there an updated radio for this ROM that I missed? If so, should I flash it or was it already included in this ROM?

Have any of you updated firmware yet by chance? Thanks.

Yeah, I know it's still not perfect due to that and don't expect it to be. I have no problems being a tester and giving feedback. Just wanted to share my experience so he could get it going :)

Imo tweeted that the new Kernel source seems to be responsible for the drain. Will try 1.6.6 to see if it is fixed. Man I am loving this ROM and LeanKernel, it's like they are both made for just my phone. :D

Let me know how it is. Like I said, since flashing, my phone is getting warm/hot. Did not do that prior to flashing.

(Re:bluetooth audio stuttering issue) Yes I did full wipe for toto17 and lean kernel ver.1.64. Thanks.

This has happened to me too today... I wonder if enabling JuiceDefender made my phone stay awake while the screen was off?

What kind of battery life you getting? I'm at 53% at 9 and a half hours which would be all well and fine except I've only had an hour and a half screen on time max

On the graph your GPS engaged. Maybe that wakes up the maps app. Are you running some kind of app that requires your location? Otherwise battery life looks normal to me in that short of a time.

Let us know what you find. The theme shouldn't affect it, but who knows I've seen much crazier things happen in Android :p

Nope radios don't typically (I've never seen it in 2 years) come with ROM's although I just read Steven58 said Theory's rom came with the new leaked radio....odd.

Your radio/baseband will stay the same until you specifically go get the leaked radios, dnld them, and flash. Is this what you mean by firmware?

I understand about crack flashing it's the nature of the beast :D

Data drops should not be ROM related. I have seen kernel related data issues though. I'm no authority on most of this stuff, but the data drop could also have been the VZ network or any other number of causes hard to pin down.

Yeah, I know it's still not perfect due to that and don't expect it to be. I have no problems being a tester and giving feedback. Just wanted to share my experience so he could get it going :)

And that is exactly what Roman wants thx for posting!

I know agreed :) After 1.6 and 1.6.1 and even 1.6.4 I went to test out Faux's .9m kernel. It, to me, is identical in battery life and smoothness to imo's 1.2 and 1.4 which is stellar!

(Re:bluetooth audio stuttering issue) Yes I did full wipe for toto17 and lean kernel ver.1.64. Thanks.

Keep us updated is it still doing it?

Was not really feeling imo's kernel. Even the latest 1.6.6. I know I should have rode it out the day, but have been reading some really good stuff about Franco's kernel. [KERNEL][GPL][12 JAN - #12] franco.Kernel | 4.0.3 | OC | TUN | INIT.D | COLORCONTROL - RootzWiki

Flashed it a little while ago so far so good. Will see how I roll with this one over the next few days.

Cheers!

Yeah franco's are very nice...I haven't tried 12 yet, but everything before 10 and including 10 give me lockscreen wake up lag. Not bad, but too noticeable for my OCD :p

Thanks for the response. I updated leankernal to .6 today...somehow I had missed the last 2 updates....lol. also, I am going to try the full charge tonight with no GPS anything enabled....maybe that is what is switching maps on....on all my previous androids I have always left all GPS options enabled because I travel, and utilize search, and now G+, etc for nearest things/people plus nav. I will have to see what happens in the next couple of days. Gotta say...flashing is always fun, and I am VERY happy with this ROM!!!!
