[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

Thanks for the response. I updated leankernal to .6 today...somehow I had missed the last 2 updates....lol. also, I am going to try the full charge tonight with no GPS anything enabled....maybe that is what is switching maps on....on all my previous androids I have always left all GPS options enabled because I travel, and utilize search, and now G+, etc for nearest things/people plus nav. I will have to see what happens in the next couple of days. Gotta say...flashing is always fun, and I am VERY happy with this ROM!!!!

Yeah I think I'm about to give .6 a go tomorrow although .7 might be out by then :D

I've been on Faux's .9m kernel it is a real dandy especially after flashing his "reset kernel". Reminds me of imoseyons 1.2 and 1.4 24 hour battery life days!

You could also try, ya know for sh^ts and giggles :P, to open and close map app 1st thing when you take it off the charger in the morn. Then use the task switcher button and swipe it away.

I've also found the check boxes in settings> location services> check the top and bottom ones (uses your mobile network and/or WIFI for location acquisition) and it is pretty darn accurate. Not for navigation though

Leaving your GPS on all the time should not drain your battery when you're not running an app/s that specifically calls for that. That's how it is supposed to work anyways lol

Could you let me know how that test goes? I ran imoseyon's previous version yesterday, terrible battery life, flashed .6 today and it was better but still not great. I haven't tried faux yet though. Can you tell me how they match up? If you think faux is better battery life-wise that may be the next one I try.

Faux's .9m, after flashing the reset kernel, is equal to my favorite kernel which is imoseyons 1.2. Battery life is what I consider stellar for a 4G phone and my uses. And performance is butter smooth on both.

I have not tried 1.2 on aokp17 yet. I'm tempted to flash it tomorrow instead of the 1.6.6, but it is sooo difficult not to flash the latest isn't it.... Sometimes "newer is NOT better" how true in all things life!

Absolutely true in many cases and people screw up a lot because of it! Haha. Maybe I'll try flashing Faux's tomorrow...battery life is crucial for me but then I get annoyed when my phone lags :P the quest for the holy kernel continues! If you could post updates of how .6 is running tomorrow and compare them to how Faux's ran I'd greatly appreciate it. If Faux's ran better I'll flash it when I get home

I'll definitely will compare them in a post. I do run them for 48+ hours though before making judgement so it'll be Thursday'ish :D

Nice. Let me know how it is. I am on p3droid's rom right now. Its pretty good and battery life is awesome compared to when I was on AOKP.

Sweet! Thanks for the update. Your link links to the Nexus S phone not the GN, but it's all good :D

Where's this rom? I might take a look. I feel like aokp will be what I come back to but a change once in a while is good

OP updated, Roman posted 19 will hit soon. If 18 is working fine for you then no worries (thinking the bugs are aesthetic only). Might want to hold off if you haven't flashed 18 yet :D

Thanks for the update. What ROM are you using bro?

Running 17 I am Chomping at the bit for the volume rocker wake fix, proper spaced nav buttons and all the others.

I just want to read some good feedback 1st.

Looks great to me. Easy flashover too. But since there are some cosmetic changes coming you can prob wait. If you really want the vol rocker fix then flash this and the new one coming later.

edit: 19 building now so hold off

Hit soon as in how soon?

The one issue I have with nightly's is the constant wipes so if its soon as in like today or tomorrow then I'll hold off on 18 as tempting as it is because it fixes things I'm peeved about. But if its like next week I'll flash it. I hate wipes -_-
