[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

Format? I'm new and have not heard this term used in pre-flashing yet, Please do tell?

In mounts and storage in CWMR, you'll see format/system. A few things to keep in mind. This is considered a "dirty" flash. I cleared cache partition and dalvik cache, then format/system, then flashed the ROM. This is considered a "proceed at your own risk" method by many. I took my chances and had no problems whatsoever. But those results may vary!

Ah..this sucks. This rom is by far the best I ever tried, but most important function is broken for me. Bluetooth Audio to my car. I tried v16 and 19 tonight, but still no go. I did full wipe...I can connect no problem, but once I start the music, it stutters like hell.

Once i got back to ota 4.02 rom, it works fine again. :(

Unless I'm missing it somewhere (which is entirely possible) Black Exodus is only for GSM on 19.

You didn't miss a thang! Thanks for noting this, OP updated ;)

Some LTE users are saying it works with their phone so I added it to OP. If you feel a little bit daring it looks like it'll work out swell.

To people running B19...a new feature added in ROM Control for lock screen was Hide nav bar and it says if your device supports it. I check it and the black bar is still there. What determines whether or not our device is supported if its a GNex ROM? Lol

Saw your post at the rootz. Hope he responds. If no one answers try posting it again after a days worth. Must be something in the BT stack that is being used in 4.0.3. Have you tried any 4.0.3 rom and have BT work properly?

I'm almost positive this feature is only supported on the GSM version....almost :D

Quick update on my battery life....turned all GPS off for the entire day. Updated to lean kernel 1.6.6 yesterday....happier with battery life, dissapointed that the battery life keeps coming back to Google apps issues....maps, GPS, gtalk, G+, etc, at least for me.

But I gotta be honest. I am not using this phone like I was hoping I would. No games, limited phone calls, limited internet...and today, no navigating. Pretty dismal.
But still lovin this phone!!!!!

Not bad at all. Which governor are you using? Standard battery?

I'm curious how many apps (approximately) do you have querying the net (emails, location services, fb/twitters, google+ syncing, photos, etc..)?

Be glad you have that much battery life..I get less than half that with charges throughout the day

Just flashed 19. Loving the volume rocker wake fix and the resents being reliable. Thanks!

I was running the imoseyon 1.6.6 kernel.

I notices when I toggled in LTE today she went gray and would not come back after all kinds of tries. I then went into the OE settings CDMA/LTE selection and she came back.

Would this be a kernel thing? It did not do that before flashing it.

What kernel are some of you liking?

Nope not bad at all, much happier with this result. Still standard battery, and I did not charge it at all yesterday.
FB, G+ but no auto upload on photos for anything. 3 Gmail accounts, and Google maps, but now only when I turn the GPS on. I am also running splashtop but not connected to my other comps unless i need something. I keep wifi on all day, eventhough i only connect to wifi at home, and have good 4g all day at work. I have not installed anything to run the governor, just simply lean and the M2 ROM. Do you have a recommendation for the governor app? Oh, and the only way that I can seem to get a full charge is to literally turn the phone off at night to charge, but I am going to give it a try tonight with leaving the phone on while charging. I would like to know if I am actually getting a deep sleep, so will be installing cpuspy today.

Ugh, a wipe? I was hoping to not have to do that.

Is build 19 worth switching from M2? I have TiBu and all, but it's a pain getting everything just right.

I'll let you know. I plan on doing it today. Thankfully I had downloaded everything last night before xda and rootzwiki went black for today

I'm on b19 with Franco nightly 12 kernel and still getting piss poor battery life. I even downloaded the paid Franco app to enable Hotplug which hasn't helped.

I've tried all the fixes - disabled LTE, GPS, autorotate, wifi, auto-sync, opened and closed camera, disabled G+, Gtalk, GMaps, and DRM Protected Content. All of this at the same time and still losing battery power at a rate of 10%+ per hour. I'm running out of options here...

Ok then time to rethink what you're doing. Here's a suggestion, take it as you may.
1. Do a full wipe after you do a nandroid backup. I mean factory/reset, then wipe cache, then dalvik.
2. Flash the rom, and then flash gapps
3. Reboot sign into google, reboot
4. Download Imo's 1.6.6 exp2 (230) kernel and setcpu if you don't have it. Use InteractiveX governor with the bottom at 230 and max 1200.
Then check battery life for an hour or so. If all is well start restoring your apps and keep an eye on any severe battery drain. Don't mess with lte, gps, wifi (although you should use it if you have it available) or disabling system apps or gapps.
5. Report back :-)

Thanks a lot, bjanow.

I'm going to stick it out at least until tomorrow on AOKP19/Franco12 and see how my battery does. If it continues the way it's going.. your directions are my next step.

Omg I'm loving 19 with the GSM version of Black Exodus. And the font changed too. I think that was with the theme though. I like it a lot

About what my phone is pulling as far as "net querying apps".

You can try "No Frills" app on market free. It can change the governor....well you'll change it, but the program will give you that ability. Are you on Lean 1.6.6? If so give the InteractiveX governor a shot without modifying any voltages. See what you think.

I'm actually back on Lean 1.2.1 using InteractiveX governor no voltage tweaks and I have trouble killing the battery. Newer is not always better :)

I had thought that some of these latest iterations of AOKP were battery hogs, but it was the kernels I was using. Faux's .9m kernel was also very good on battery. 10m is out now, some say it's even better than .9m, but I have yet to try it.

Any chance you have a link for the lean kernel you're using? I'd love to attempt it. Pretty please. :)
