Go to the last page of that thread and see my post#2020.
Same question. Subscribe and hope I get an answer.
Imoseyon says he just flashes kernels without any wiping. I like to wipe dalvik cache only for any kernel flashes, I always have. It's up to you
Due to my lack of patience I'm going to wipe dalvik and flash and hope for the best!!
Faux's .9m kernel was also very good on battery. 10m is out now, some say it's even better than .9m, but I have yet to try it.
Ok then time to rethink what you're doing. Here's a suggestion, take it as you may.
1. Do a full wipe after you do a nandroid backup. I mean factory/reset, then wipe cache, then dalvik.
2. Flash the rom, and then flash gapps
3. Reboot sign into google, reboot
4. Download Imo's 1.6.6 exp2 (230) kernel and setcpu if you don't have it. Use InteractiveX governor with the bottom at 230 and max 1200.
Then check battery life for an hour or so. If all is well start restoring your apps and keep an eye on any severe battery drain. Don't mess with lte, gps, wifi (although you should use it if you have it available) or disabling system apps or gapps.
5. Report back
Screenie?Omg I'm loving 19 with the GSM version of Black Exodus. And the font changed too. I think that was with the theme though. I like it a lot
Screenie?
Jbdan: have you tried 1.6.6 exp2 at 230? 5 hours on wifi 8% loss. I've never seen that. Granted it's wifi but I'm still pushing 3 AS accounts, gmail, weather updates etc.

I like the white text in the notification bar. Got a link to the theme?
How do I go about installing themes? Reboot to recovery>flash theme? or do I need to do any wipes, etc?
Saw your post at the rootz. Hope he responds. If no one answers try posting it again after a days worth. Must be something in the BT stack that is being used in 4.0.3. Have you tried any 4.0.3 rom and have BT work properly?

Thanks Jbdan. I saw you there too
I tried Pete's bugless jan 12 ver with lean kernel 1.6.6 just now.
I ran to the parking lot and tested by turning bluetooth on and off several times. Music starts without stuttering 5 out of 6 times now
Well I can live with that..
I have not flashed 1.6.6 yet. Went back to 1.2.1 as it's been the best battery sipper for me since its release. I've tried everything in-between though.
I've been note taking with each kernel and give them 48 hours. I'll try 1.6.6 when finished testing my 1.2.1 on top of aokp 17 tomorrow night.
On 1.2.1 InteractiveX gov I lose ~1% per hour on WIFI not using the phone overnight.
The question is how much it loses with use and how come you're still on 17?
All the kernels I have used drain similarly when in heavy use. There is no getting around that. Screen on, surfing on 4G, texting, phone calls the phone is going to drain no matter what
That being said, what bugs me is when my phone is not being used & the battery drains abnormally. This is where we shouldn't be seeing large drain and it should be sleeping properly (a huge issue with the stock GN 4.0.2 and with many new Android phones).
When testing kernels to see which one sips battery the best I like to stay on the same ROM to make sure there are no other variables at work and for consistency. Trust me I'm tempted by 19, but have to finish my OCD kernel battery life tests
Haha please keep us up to date on your findings! I'm gonna try Faux's tonight as you suggested. Only thing I'm debating is to flash 9 or 10
Downloading build 19 and Gapps now. Coming from Milestone2, so that means a full wipe. Then gonna load leankernel 1.6.6 and see how it does with a full day tomorrow.
Let us know how you like Faux's. After 24 hours on 1.2.1 I still have 33% battery left (standard). It was a lower than normal usage day for me (105 minutes screen on, 45 minutes voice calls, 85% on WIFI, 15% on 4G, bluetooth in the car for 30min), but it confirms my previous thoughts on 1.2.1. It is my benchmark kernel for battery life.
OP updated with more MOD compatibility to #19
