[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

BB,

Are you leaving wifi on all the time? If you aren't near a wifi spot, won't that negatively affect your battery stats because it is constantly looking to connect? At least that is how it worked with my Dinc.

I am. I know there's been debate about it. I haven't seen any real negative impact from leaving it on. Maybe next week I'll see how it does if I turn it off at work.

Galaxy Nexus LTE/CDMA Unlocked/Rooted. Trying to flash AOKP toro build using clockworkmod rom manager flash from sd. It keeps getting stuck at the android laying on its back with a red exclamation. Battery pull and loads back up no problem. First time trying this what am I doing wrong?

I am totally new to this. Sorry I am newb. Unlocked and rooted for the first time last night. I tried reading some faqs but I am defintely missing something.

Thank you advance for help

Did you flash recovery in RM first? It is the top option (make sure you select CDMA). The android on his back is stock recovery not clockwork

Did you make a nandroid first? That's always first.
Then try downloading from the link in the 1st post and doing the flash manually by booting into recovery.

Are you 100% POSITIVE you downloaded the toro build and not a build for another phone?

I downloaded the crespo build by mistake, which is for the Nexus S, and had the same issue. Wiped, and flashed toro build, and all was golden.

By the way, 15 hours and going strong!! There's about a 2 minute window where the phone was charging via USB because I was transferring backups to my computer. The battery % only went up 1 or 2 points during that time.

I don't think I can bring myself to update to imo 1.7 when I'm getting these kind of results. And really... why would I want to? :D

I'm going to leave it unplugged the rest of the day and overnight to see just how much battery life I can eek out.

You should always wait at least 15 minutes before pulling the battery. Let it do it's thing.

Same thing happened to me when I flashed AOKP 19. Bootlooped for 15 minutes, pulled battery, rebooted, golden.

How long has it been there? My first flash took about 3 or 4 minutes

Ten minutes and still stuck at the screen?! I don't know what to do. I guess I'll leave it on and drive home. I used Wugfresh's root program. If it still hasn't loaded will I be able to unroot and start over, or is there something else I should try.

I feel like such a moron!

Still stuck on boot load and it has been about an hour. . .

If it's not booting after 5 minutes something went wrong.

First off, did you check the Md5 of BOTH of your downloads (ROM and Gapps)? If not you need to do this to confirm they match.

Secondly, when you go to flash these 2 zips, you first need to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, go to mounts and storage and format system, go back, go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache, then flash the ROM first, then immediately after flash Gapps. Then reboot and give it at least 5 minutes.

I'd restore to your last backup, check Md5's on the 2 zips, then follow with the procedure above

Let us know :)

Thank you everyone for being so helpful. I installed the version that said Gapps not needed. I am going to try to unroot using wugfresh's program then reroot I guess. . .and then try again. Can you point me in the direction to some resources (apparently idiot proof in my case) that can help me so I don't mess up again.

No need to unroot. Did you make a nandroid/backup after you rooted? A backup of your stock ROM?

So you downloaded M2 aka Milestone2? When you flashed did you do all those wipes I mentioned in my previous post?

I thought I made a backup using clockwork, I guess I didn't. Got ahead of myself unrooted about to root again. I just downloaded nightly 19 and gapps. will try again.

Backup made and saved on desktop. woo half of the battle done. Is there any easy way to check md5?

rom 8F0670B4729F95CA9497ABABB19CFB64
gapp D9E7682F9AC429F37EAF862560635C8F

I just don't know where to compare to?

In process of factory reset. How do I wipe the other stuff? I really am super thankful for your help. Sorry if these are all obvious answers that a google search could solve, but I am frustrated and don't know where to begin looking at this point. A million thank yous!

I use Md5 checker on my PC

There are other ways as well.

Before you flash build19 and gapps do this in clockworkmod CWM recovery: wipedata/factory reset, wipe cache partition, scroll to mounts and storage and format system, go back, scroll to advanced, wipe dalvik cache.

Go back, install zip from sdcard, choose zip, scroll to ROM zip, flash, choose zip, scroll to gapps, flash, go back, reboot. Hope this helps!
