[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

Thanks for the reply. I did flash both the rom and gapps zip. I've done 2 restarts so far to see if that made a difference. I did a full wipe when flashing, so I know that's not the issue.

I remember going through this with my Dinc, but for the life of me can't remember how I used to fix it.. prbly wouldnt make a difference since ICS is such a different beast

You re downloaded and checked the md5 sums correct? A bad zip is all it takes to bork things.

Nope. I realize I should be doing that, but I've never had issues in the past with flashing. I suppose wiping and re-flashing with MD5 sum checks will be the next step, unless someone has an easier solution.

Thanks

Funny...I was just wondering if the reason I wasn't getting the Google Play update had to do with AOKP...then I realized I had an inverted market...silly me for even thinking such a thing :P

Is that why I can't buy anything? Cause I have a themed market?

Well I'm assuming you've heard about the update from the Android Market to Google Play...my Prime has already gotten the update (stock ROM) but I was wondering why my GNex wasn't getting it...themed market won't update...I don't know if it causes the market to actually not work but its causing it to not update

Yup, heard about the (dumb) name change. Guess I'll go hunt down the apk for the market

I had the inverted market from Rootzwiki and it updated to a non-inverted Google play.
It happened when I got an "Accept or Decline" message for Google Play. I put the phone down and Googled it up on the PC to see what it was. After seeing what the deal was I accepted.

All systems are go to buy, but not inverted .

Heheh guess I'll be waiting for the inverted Gapps update

Market is sooo much better why oh why play?? Sounds so weird doesn't it...

I'm not a huge fan of the icon change either. El Goog typically does tasteful changes. Seems like this was not very well thought out. Guess we'll see

I agree with the distasteful changes...however as far as not being well thought out...no lol I'm pretty sure Google knows exactly what they're doing marketing wise and they've made this change for a very specific reason. New device, new app, new technology, who knows, but I'll bet there's something new soon following.

Hopefully travp624 updates the inverted GApps soon...and it isn't just Market/Play that has to be updated Google/Play Music does as well

Just got confirmation from gsxrdon that he is updating the gapps package for the new Play apk......now to (im)patiently wait. :D

Yes I did. I did a Restore apps with data. I thought that was legit. As long as I don't do system data, I thought it was cool. No?
To get your bars back to blue you'll have to reflash. When restoring with titanium DO NOT restore any Google apps (maps, street view, voice, Gmail, browser, YouTube, Talk, etc...) and do not restore any app data. I know a pita. But It Works! :)

I didn't even know gsxrdon did a GApps package...link?

EDIT: Found it. Yeah once he updates Google Play and Play Music I'll probably flash those instead. More blue :D

Wait till you see the flashing icon in the status bar for mail and a couple other things - goes between white ans ics blue! (Yeah, it doesn't take much to amuse me)

That happens with GApps to? Or the whole theme? The flashing doesn't sound good to me..I like third eye for theme but I would love themed GApps

I reflashed. Back up and running as usual. B27 is sweet btw. I hadn't updated since M1 because things were going so smoothly and I didn't want to mess up a good thing. But after flashing a bunch of different kernels, things were starting to feel buggier. B27 is smooth as silk

Fair enough. Bring on the Nexus Tablet already :)

I was about to come post a public service announcement to check your MD5s since mine didn't match.

But then I realized I checked the sums before finish downloading.

So... please download ALL of the ROM before installing. Thanks :)
