25 to 26 said "no wipe needed if coming form 25' and now 26 to 27 says "wipe"

So you're saying wipe cache, wipe davlik, and flash?

No reflashing of the Gapps correct, since we're on the most current with 26?

No, when it says to wipe it means wipe data. So you should back up your apps, data, SMS, launcher settings etc to the SD card prior.

OK...just read on the AOKP forum/comments, Roman says no wipe needed coming from 26.

QUESTION...if I'm not doing a full wipe, do still reflash the Gaps? I'm currently on the most current Gaps.

AFAIK, yes, you should re-flash gapps each time. At least when flashing CM7 on the inc and AOKP on my nexus, I've had to flash gapps after the ROM, since I believe part of the flashing process wipes /system which is where some/all gapps install to.
 
In my lockscreen options, I changed my lockscreen style to "quad" and added a sound toggle as one of the custom apps. When I use that shortcut, it seems to toggle between ON and Vibrate instead of ON and OFF. Is there a way to disable Vibrate altogether leaving just the two choices? It seems like I was able to choose a "Vibrate:Never" on the stock ROM but I don't see an option for that in the Sound Settings on AOKP build 27.
 
I flashed this last night and wow am I impressed. The one thing I can't seem to figure out how to do is modify the color of the status bar/drop down bar. Is there a mod/app to add that functionality, or is it somewhere in the ROM controls and I can't find it?

You can change the color of the clock and the signal indicator in each of their individual settings, but I don't think you can change the color of the whole thing.
 
I don't mind the full wipe so much but for the chore of reconfiguring my email pop3 and IMAP accounts. Working for 3 firms I have 5 accounts to reload.
I hear talk of Titanium BU doing it but it don't happen for me.

I use SMS to Text Pro to export them and import them back in. Really nice.
 
Hey, I'm on Build 25, I was wonderin I know it's not smart to go to Build 27 without wiping my phone(I've read jumping 2 builds isn't smart). But I'm curious can I go to Build 26 then immediately go to build 27? will this cause any problems?? do I need to clear anything at all? cache? dalvik cache? hopefully not factory reset lol

Unless I'm wrong and I can just go from 25 to 27 with no problems lol and are the gapps different from 25 to 27??

Just make a backup and go ahead and go from 25 to 27. Wipe cache partition and dalvik. If you experience any issues then you know what to do. :)

Could you use the "octo" setting and make ones you don't use blank and make the one you use silent and vibrate? Or maybe I'm misunderstanding...

setting> sound> vibrate and ring?
 
Howd does this rom compare to BAMF? I just flashed this after trying BAMF for a day !! I heard allot of good things about this one !!

I haven't tried BAMF actually. It's funny because I've tried just about every ROM haha. Sorry :/ . I suggest checking change logs and feature lists to determine who has more features or what differences they have, but as far as stability and usability I have no first hand experience with BAMF. For that I'd read through the threads :) . All I know is I've been running AOKP since B17 and love it to death! Unicorn swagger :D
 
Ok so I don't think anyone here compiles the own versions prior to release...but based on pure speculation then...regarding the double lock screen feature...do you think it will only allow you to enter the custom apps through the lock screen shortcuts? Meaning, if I slid to unlock camera or slid to unlock browser, and then tried to go home, would it request a pass code? What do you guys think?
 
i am on BAMF, and i must say while it is an amazing rom, there are a ton more features in M3, and once M4 drops, that will be my ROM for a while until something intensely better comes along.. i may try miui, but still up in the air about that one, but so far, m3 and bamf are the best ones. IMHO

The way I understand it is that it will always request the passcode if you have the option checked. So if you slide to camera or slide to phone, you'll have to enter your passcode/pattern before it will open.
 
Just flashed 27. For some reason my bars are stuck on gray and my phone won't sync properly. Any tips on how to fix that? Thanks much folks!

I know this might sound odd...but did you flash the ROM file and gapps...or just the ROM file?
If you did both then a restart should get it going. If you did not do both, go back out to recovery mode and flash the ROM first, then the gapps file...then reboot back in...should do the trick? Let us know tho...

Thanks for the reply. I did flash both the rom and gapps zip. I've done 2 restarts so far to see if that made a difference. I did a full wipe when flashing, so I know that's not the issue.

I remember going through this with my Dinc, but for the life of me can't remember how I used to fix it.. prbly wouldnt make a difference since ICS is such a different beast
