[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

I am confused... I just got my nexus today, coming from og droid. I flashed every rom there was on that thing so I know the process fairly well. When I flash this rom (looks amazing btw), and login to google, restart as recommended, boot it back up, it does not sync any apps. It only has the default stock apps. In my market apps, it only shows paid apps, none of which auto-install.

Is this normal and does everybody really just use titanium pro? I never had to do that on my droid... it synced all apps, free/paid/etc upon first boot with a new rom (most of the time...)

yep. worked great, thx for posting... hope that rumor is true though. i can't see how anyone likes that new notification icon

App restore has been working for quite a few builds ago. I've never, not once, used it though so I can't offer much advice (I've always used TiBu). Bump for you in hope of a speedy reply :)

okay maybe that's where I am getting confused. How do you NOT use it? do you not immediately sign into your google account and have it begin syncing? or what?

A little check box appears when going through the setup wizard. I've always unchecked it.

hmm. Have you tried searching over at the rootzwiki thread to see what others are or aren't doing to get the app restore to work correctly?

I started using TiBu from the get go with my Eris then Inc so that is all I've ever known sorry I can't be of much more help :o
 
its ok. I have tried over there. the thread is almost 400 pages long. I registered finally, verified my account, and then was promptly locked out of said account. said it doesnt recognize my verification key from the signup email. wont let me sign up again. cant log in. cant search the thread.

I put the lockscreen mods for M2 on my gnex. I like most of the mods included in the package except for two things
1.) the mirrored effect on the navigation buttons
2.) the horizontal layout of the recent apps
Is there a way to delete some parts of the .zip file to get rid of these two things? Or is a take it or leave it sort of deal?

Sorry if it sounds stupid and TIA!

So you used bgill55's mod I'm guessing? I think his is a take it or leave it, although I'm sure with the knowledge you could pick and choose through his 7zip mod. That knowledge is far above my head though :p

All those mods (iirc) are available separately by the developers you could pick and choose that way.

Yeah I'm using bgil55's mod. I was really only interested in the actual lockscreen portion of the mod (quick access to phone/messaging). Where would I be able to find that? I wasn't able to find it on rootzwiki.

The specific lockscreen mod is available for the AOKP 15 build. Would I just have to switch from M2 to 15?

Check here (I'm not sure if that is the updated versions, just glanced at it, but it looks like it) :)

Also it looks like some people have flashed the lockscreen mod w/o the 360 rotation and it's working fine on M2. If you go that route just make a backup to be safe!

Yup must wipe everything and build 16 does not come with gapps you need to flash separately immediately after flashing ROM before 1st bootup :)
 
16 taken down squashing bugs (well you can go get it, but I'm not posting till cleaned up)

Ya I am on 16 and I am noticing a lot of bugs. When you wipe everything clean is it okay to restore system data? Right now this phone is running like a dog. Gonna restore.
 
Yeah, it's gonna be later. Time to get some work done now while we get the chance. Busy afternoon coming up. He did release a 16a with su in it, but there are some reboot issues. Zaphod widget fixes coming for 17 as well I believe. Everyone is afk for now.

No, never. Don't restore system data only apps+data if you want. But a restore is def in order at this point with 17 coming later today. Test build is out to a couple of users.
