[Verizon] [ROM] AOKP JB-MR1 Milestone 2 [4.2.2] (07.21.13) TORO

I think two finger swipe brings up toggles. One finger brings up notifications. If no notifications, one finger brings up toggles.

I Just like my toggles simple, I usually run 3 only, lte, gps, and airplane. Right now I have Data but that was because I was in crap reception area which was killing my battery.

Does anyone have an issue with the keyboard covering up the bottom portion of the text popup when using handcent, or am I the only one? Didn't have this problem until after I flashed 4.2.1.

Yes...I have the same problem and am not happy about it. I use the pop-up 95% of the time to respond to texts.

I assume something like that will not get fixed until they release the next installment?

On a side note, I really like this version. The arrow keys in the Nav bar are awesome. I typically use Swiftkey because you can add arrow keys to the keyboard. Now I'll have them and can use the stock keyboard.

No other comments on the pop up problem with Handcent? Does anyone use Handcent and NOT have this problem?

Can someone test there ability to tether their Xbox to the native tethering on this ROM? So far I'm 0 for 2 with other ROMs. It's seemingly a 4.2 issue, and not a ROM issue so I'm looking to confirm this (

Can someone actually try this, not just say you are good to go or not... please actually try because this sucks...

I don't use popups with mine, load up Go SMS Pro and try it out to see if its popups work. But I have seen more complaints about Handcent being the problem.

And I have been unable to tether as well, Rootwiki threads are about 50/50 on the issue, some have issues with it and the rest works perfectly

Got 8 hrs today. About 3 hrs on wifi, 2 hrs of screen on time in a low signal area. Switched between 3/4g a few times but I never turned off 4g.

Updated my ROM last night and everything seems to be working well. I love the power shutter (which I think came in B2). No glitches so far.

It also appears they fixed the issue with Handcent pop-ups where the box wouldn't move to accommodate the keyboard. Now everything functions the way it should and the pop-up moves up when the keyboard is opened.

My first rom flash!

stock 4.1.1 has been buggy since the oem update, so I decided to factory data reset it... it worked my better, but since my phone was now clean, I decided to start trying some roms. AOKP was my first choice. Plus say that a new build just dropped. very cool.

aokp blog says there will be bluetooth problems, but i dont really use bt... everything seems to be working well.

I didn't like the notification transparency either, and it took me a couple of goes before I got the settings to take hold, but did finally get it back to black.

Only thing I would change is to have the Rom obey the animation settings in the developer settings section. I absolutely hate the power off animation when clicking the power button... I like to set it at 0.5x as it disables that anime but leaves the others on, at least it did in stock 4.1.1.

Update: battery life seemed to be amazing on this rom! When sitting idle, the battery would bassically not drain at all it seemed, whereas stock 4.1.1 would drain several % points. Is that basically due to the kernel?

Photosphere camera is really cool (not really part of the rom, but it worked really well on this rom).

The color controls were buggy for me, would kinda flash sometimes, like some static at the top of the screen.

Launching some things would be laggy, for example Nova Settings, I'm not sure why. CLicking the power button to turn screen off and swiping to unlock seemed to be a bit slow to respond.

Going between 4.1 and 4.2 can cause problems for TitaniumBackup and Clockwordmod Rom Manager nandroid backup/restore as the folder structure changes with 4.2.

I ended up going back to my stock 4.1.1 nandroid after a bit of an ordeal trying to flash a homebaked AOSP build... its a long story, but I'm learning... hehe.

Lol I love the power animation, I remember I was excited the first time I got it for my Dx, I'm still on build 2 and I know that speeding up the animations worked for me, but never tried lowering them so I don't know if thats a recent problem or not.

Running the latest (B3 I believe).
Really love it. :)
Mods aren't quite on par with Sourcery but plenty for me. Really speedy but haven't gotten a better sense for battery life. Anyone running a different kernel other than the stock one it comes with?

was running build 3 but began to get the ram lag issue. now i am running the valentine's day build from fits and it seems the aokp team has fixed the ram lag issue plus he cherry picked one the best new features which is the quick record tile! really awesome and useful addition! i am also currently running the kernel that came with it lean kernel 5.8.2

Lol I love the power animation....

The thing is, if I wake up in the middle of the night to check my phone, I like to be able to power the screen on/off with no frills, just on to off... the flash of white is jarring. Plus I usually have the click in nighttime mode (which doesn't work as well on 4.2 imo) and a screen filter to reduce brightness even more... so the white flashing animation is almost a killer for me.

I built 4.2.1_r1.2 AOSP and the behavior was the same as AOKPmr1-build3, changing windows animation scale did not affect the on/off white flash animation... ugh... any developers out there was to change that for me??? :adore: or at least give me some hints where that is in the source code, or what system apks control it?

Hey all, just checking in...know I haven't been around lately, but that's because I switched over to T-Moblie and got the N4 :D hope all is well over here and I've already got a 4.2.2 unofficial toro build cooked up if anyone would like it (and jmar permits it, of course).

Cheers,

I'm down to let you post whatever bro. Just make sure it boots for TORO. :D

Edit: This thread doesn't officially offer support for builds other than official builds. But, as always and as should be expected in the spirit of this forum, personal relevant builds are welcomed. Nothing wrong with sharing. I mean this wholeheartedly. :D
