[Verizon] [ROM] AOKP JB-MR1 Milestone 2 [4.2.2] (07.21.13) TORO

Has anyone tried flashing Franco's back on to AOKP and see if that fixes the battery issues?

Does anyone have a link to Franco's latest for the 4.1.2?

Yeah, I did after my post above. I'm back on lean kernel if that tells you anything.

On milestone 1 AOKP I get 8 hours with lean, 6 with franco. I keep my phone on 3g to save battery and I'm on Wi-Fi when possible to save further. In the past (version 5 or so) Iwas getting 12-16 hours on franco.

Not sure what has changed...but it isn't my usage (which is probably less to conserve battery) or apps (which are the same except for updates).

I hope there is a fix coming

The AOKP Version in the screen shot is dubbed unofficial. In the past, when Steven Spear releases his own builds, it has been with the understanding that it is not officially supported. It is very similar to CM in that until a ROM is deemed official, users flash with certain risk. This doesn't mean we can't talk about it or ask questions. Additionally, this is in no way a PSA, I just want the users here to know that AOKP is not officially on 4.2, yet. :)

Thank you, jova, for keeping or users informed of their options. :)

I'm running JB M1, but would like to try out the 4.2 unofficials.

however, I can't find any inverted 4.2 gapps, and that's holding me back.

Also, are custom LED colors, navbar colors and hold back to kill all there in this preview?

To your question, yes, they're all there.

Inverted contacts and Gmail works. No inverted MMS that I can find though.

I only use inverted Gmail, contacts, and will use this guy's mms when it's updated to 4.2.

But they're pumping out previews like twice a day. I'm not even sure that's the latest.

How does battery life compare to M1? I found that M1 wasn't as good as previous versions but if I added in 4.2 Gapps to M1 it was absolutely intolerable (4-5 hours vs. 10-12 hours on previous Gapps).

Also - what have you found are the biggest downsides?

It's a preview build.... and Google didn't work out all the kinks with 4.2 before release.
Can't enable vibrate while ringing. That's the only downside I can find.
Battery life is excellent with leankernel 5.0. I've been on my phone since like 8 am. 2hr 38 min screen on, 50% battery, but I've been on Wi-Fi all day too.

I can set it to vibrate only.... but no one ever calls me, so I don't know if it'll vibrate lol. I mean texts vibrate.

can you please post a link to where you are getting these unofficial releases? The one above takes you to rootz but the "latest release" link takes you to an "oops" page.

Thanks!!

Edit: Nevermind. Saw the AOKP Fitsnugly build and giving that shot. Pretty good so far! Lots of features for an early build!

Anybody know where I can get Milestone 6 (ICS)? Links on the AOKP website are all broken. I'm wanting to go back to ICS for awhile. JB roms seem to all lag and use massive amounts of battery regardless of kernel.

Have you tried Jelly Belly IBT?

I've been on a 4.2 ROM few a few days and I'm not as impressed as i had expected.

Since 4.2 changes up your file system, is it a problem if I choose to return to a 4.1 ROM like AOKP? If so, what do I do to get it fixed?

Did you make a nandroid? You should be to just flash right back.

Greeting Unicorn Followers,

Team AOKP is still in the process of releasing a 4.2 ROM.

In the meantime, Devs on the team are dropping pre-release builds around the interwebs. Because I must be running a fully 'Unicorn Blessed' ROM, as my job requires that my phone be working all the time, I have not been keeping up with these releases.

As the OP states, this thread is for official releases in terms of what I can follow, flash and support.

If anyone has links they want to share for builds by Steven Spear, Adam the Cashew, or another Unicorn Dev, please post in this thread, with proper credit given. This forum is for sharing and helping each other so I implore you folks to contribute as you see fit.

Lastly, the link in the OP points to the official site of AOKP. Please use it to get your Official AOKP on!

Thank you all,

jmar
