[Verizon] [ROM] AOKP JB-MR1 Milestone 2 [4.2.2] (07.21.13) TORO

Just flashed the first 07292012 nightly on my GNex and my N7. Sweet. @AOKP_ROM's tweet with their download linked to androfiletransfer and that must've been hammered, couldn't even get it to start downloading. @sixstringsg (an AOKP developer) put up some mirrors and they downloaded instantly.

ANECDOTAL EDIT:*sigh* the life of a crack flasher. Wakes up to go get a glass of water, checks twitter, and that's it. Must flash. Doesn't matter that it's 4 AM...why would it...o.O

Enjoy guys n gals :) Patriot needs some sleep now :D

For a person that doesn't like to flash very often should I think about flashing build 7? Or should I wait longer for something more stable with all the AOKP features?

Depends on if you want the AOKP features :P

I'm personally, going to give AOKP till next week to get out of "alpha" and flash that :)

(disclaimer: part of the reason I'm waiting, is I'm "on-call" for work and can't risk borking my phone this week :P)

Wanted to jump on this nightly thing but can't get the files since all server mirror I've seen posted are not working.

Has anyone ran AOKP compared to LiquidSmooth? AOKP never ran well on ICS for my phone while Liquid was a dream, but since they're both still in early phases, I wouldn't mind giving AOKP a shot on JB

Liquid is the best rom i have tried in jellybean so far. My only problem with it was random reboots. Happened 3 times and i ended up switching to bamf paradigm 2. Its as solid as aokp or jelly belly or xenon but imo has the most customization.

I'm running the first nightly build, loving it so far. I was on B38 before because I was having battery issues on later builds. No comment on battery with this ROM yet. It seems solid right now... since I have gotten home from work and stopped playing with my phone.

I've been running pretty much all day, no stability issues other than getting kicked out of the apps screen back to the home screen once... I had the same thing happen today on my stock nexus 7 though, so, I can't complain.

Am I missing something, I am getting the endless boot animation. Wipe dalvik, cache, format system, factory reset and flash and gapps?

Since running Jellybean on my GNex I've found that wiping cache and dalvik after flashing the ROM and Gapps/before you reboot prevents my long boot times or getting stuck on the boot logo. Also, I recommend reversing that order gapi; factory reset, then cache, then dalvik, then system. Just my 2

Based on my interpretations of AOKP's GitHub and Gerrit, looks like we should be seeing navbar colors soon, if not in tonights nightly build, as well as Play Movie fixes for toro!

Thanks, Still no go. Did as you wrote and the Google screen was noticeably faster although it was not too long before, but am going on 15 minutes now on the animation.

Try a battery pull, wipe cache and dalvik again, and then try booting again. My GNex has always had boot problems with Jellybean

For those on test build #7:
I just flashed the latest leankernel (4.2.0exp1-230)-----IN MY EXPERIENCE these two do not get along. I had multiple long hangs and a few freezes that required battery pulls, they were sporadic but increased in frequency until finally it was happening immediately after boot and I had to flash an old franco kernel that I had on my phone (thank god).

I tried extensive wiping before flashing, redownloading, then realized the MD5's were bad on both of my downloads (I usually never check on small files like kernels)... I find it hard to believe that it is just my connection corrupting this file upon download so I suspect that either the upload is bad or these two just don't play nice for reasons unknown to me. Just letting everyone know.

Sorry gapi :/ out of curiosity, did you flash the Jellybean boot loader? Also, what recovery are you running?

Mercy, WHAT JB bootloader. There is nothing in any of the OP's about a JB BL. I could not even google instructions.

Link to the BL?

still no go. All I can say is the fat lady aint singing on this the AOKP release at my house.
Kind of frustrated there are no guided/recommended install guides. Yawn. Gnite

I always use the nexus superwipe script, then manually wipe system/cache/dalvik x3 then in your case I would do BL -> AOKP -> GAPPS, hold off on kernels/boot animations/mods/anything else flashable until after a good healthy bootup and settling time... worked for me.

What I would do: First backup your sdcard to your PC. What recovery are you using and what version is it?

Then wipe data/ factory reset, wipe cache, format system, wipe dalvik. Flash ROM (check md5 and size of course) then flash gapps, reboot. If it sticks on Google logo screen DO NOT pull battery unless it sticks more than 5+ real timed minutes. Did you?

Be patient and do it in order all should be well. You DO NOT need the jb boot loader to run jb but it is recommended idk why...
