[Verizon] [rom]jbsourcery v5.4-lte[06/07/13] jb4.2.2 The Final Call

I can't send MMS over WiFi at all....

Has been an issue for quite a few people, unable to send MMS while connected to WiFi. Something about the phone not handing off the data part of the MMS back to the network properly. Hasn't affected everyone however, so it's still a mystery to me. Mine works fine here at home (I have a Verizon Network Extender since I don't get service at home). But it's also the only place I use WiFi really.

Do you have a decent cell signal at home for data, when not on WiFi? Do your MMS messages send if you go off WiFi and try sending over the regular network instead, or do they give you fits as well? Stock Messaging app or are you using a replacement like Go SMS? Just trying to narrow it down :)

I have a good 4g signal at the house. For the past few updates I've had to switch off wifi (good signal strength btw) and then send the pictures. If I forget, I need to restart my phone with the wifi off for the message to resend on its own. I am using stock messaging. Hope this helps.

I know it's a longshot, but go ahead and download Go SMS Pro, and test it, see if it works. I tested my sending on WiFi last night, and it worked from home, but like I said, that was on a 3G signal through a Network extender. I have 4G here at work though, so on my break, I'll hook up to our WiFi here, and try another send, through both Go and Stock, and let ya know later how I make out.

Go to Sourcery Tools > Mods > Install Alt MMS mod.

That solved the problem for me. It says its changing from 4.5 to 4.4 or something but when flashed, it revealed it was reverting from the 4.2.2 MMS app to the 4.2.1 which was perfect.

this worked perfectly for me thanks so much for your help

thanks for the idea but using the sorcery MMS fix I was able to get to work. if this ends up falling through I'll try yours out. Thanks again for both of y'alls help.

Nice :) I didn't even know that fix was there lol. Not that I was looking, since mine's been ok. Glad it's working for you!

Anyone having trouble using SwiftKey? I can't get it to stay activated in the settings menu, click the checkbox, click ok, leave settings, and it's reset to being disabled. Not really the end of the world, but kind of annoying. I have not yet tried any other keyboards.

Light FLow--
this is a problem with the way lightflow saves its data apparently.

we have contacted the dev. this is an incompatibility with the kernel.

flashing the 5.1 kernel will fix this.....

BUT....

use explorer--delete the .android folder and the lightflow folder

install light flow.

goto accessibility and turn on the lightflow tab.

than open light flow and it should work with the stock kernel .

hoping lightflow dev is looking into this. as our kernel source by Buck and lean is not gonna change.

per mms i just dont know i have never had a problem sending or receiving.

I dont have bluetooth to test t-dev tests it and states he does not have a problem.

Hopefully by keylime they fix there crud, but well keep trying. :)

No Swiftkey issues here :o

EDIT: WOW, 12 hours without a post?

Anyway, with news coming out that Android 5.0 is delayed and Android 4.3 JB will soon be out, does that mean that JBSourcery can expect lots more improvements?

Much as I love 5.2, my flashing fingers are getting itchy :D

and they charge for this app? gtfo
I gladly paid for that app for a few reasons.

1) It was an easy and cheap way to help support devs who I wanted to support.

2) It has a few customizations in the app which make its inclusion as an adjunct app vs a built-in function valuable to me.

3) I like buying apps. It's an addiction, surely.:D;)

Anyway y'all, I'm not sure it is fair that we look at two ROMs through the same pair of glasses. Sourcery is by far the most feature packed ROM out there and that goes almost without saying. Those devs have an approach. AOKP has another. There is room for both.

Totally agree. Every rom out there is amazing. Try them all. Find what you like and enjoy it. support all the devs you can, they all work an amazing amount of hours to build roms, themes, apps that make our phones fun and exciting

Well said tdev.

Just donated. :D I've never flashed this ROM BTW.

It's my first experience with Zebra Gapps. So if I flash 5.2.1, I guess it's a foregone conclusion that I have to redo the whole Zebra process again in Recovery? :(

I believe it's called ribbon functionality. Im not using nav keys or a launcher dock or pie or lmt and it's easy to navigate. Lots of other changes as well

Oh lookie, a new toy to play with...Go Go Barry Allen!

5.2.2 Loaded and...well, now I get to go back through and find even more fun things to tinker with. Sourcery Win, once again!

EDIT: Ok, so... question for 5.2.2 ... OK, where/what is this ribbon deal you speak of! I wanna play with it and haven't stumbled across it yet. Admittedly I'm at my desk at work and pretending to actually be productive, so it might just be I haven't gotten there, but any pointers would be great!

Ribbon functionality? No nav keys? Are you ribbon me? :p

Wow, that'll take some getting used to but I'll bet it's great - THANKS
It's from AOKP. Cool feature. This makes Sourcery more and more appealing to me. Is it available for the Nexus 4?

Of course, now that I've donated and have a bigger interest in trying something new, it isn't available for my N4!

Ah, I think I figured out what section that is in the phone...if it's what I think it is, it's listed as "Magic Shortcuts options" in the JB Control Center..now to play...

Wish I had better news on your N4 though.
