This is the only thing I care about in this update, but I'm expecting it to be missing from the AT&T update. If it ever gets here. :(

Just root and rom the phone ginger.. these carriers are taking the piss. Hopefully theres sammy based 4.1.2 custom roms available for your version with the annoyin restrictions removed

Something to consider, I suppose... is there a good guide somewhere for someone who is new to rooting?

I am updating right now. I thought it showed 129GB. With 4G, downloaded fast. Going through the update process now.... Little green Android dude on screen ATM with slow blue line....

Update: I have a lot of apps, so the update took a while. HEY!!! My storage shows only 9GB of storage!!!! I did not want ALL of the S4 functions ;) :) Kidding :)

I would like to report that Widgetsoid "screen off" widget has worked every time since the upgrade. Awesome!

Verizon has locked up access to the blocking mode activity which you could access through the QuickShortcutMaker app. It deletes the blocking widget when it updates and then when I tried to replace it with QSM it doesn't work... Settings stops responding. I used that every night to block anything but my kids from reaching me. Not a happy camper with the update here.

Leave it to Verizon to "muck" something up.

the multi Window thing sure is disappointing, even though I didn't have high expectations for it.

there's like 10 apps that support it? most of them are ones I never use anyway.

I am running CM 10.1 RC2/ JB 4.2.2 and my phone is super fast and buttery smooth, thank GOD I am rooted and unlocked "thank you MOD community", and don't have to deal with all that Verizon and Samsung bloatware junk, because that's all it is, nothing but JUNK. Once you run a clean unbloated ROM you have no idea how cumbersome all that bloatware is on the device and it's performance. Ever since I unlocked and rooted my S3 it feels like a whole new device.

Mine has not been updated as of 9 PM tonight.
Will Verizon push the update to all Verizon users? Even if they don't want it??

As long as you are running stock ROM, yes you will get the download notification, I don't know how many times you can deny it though.

This update makes no sense, other than perhaps a good will gesture to let customers know that even after almost a year, they have not forgot about the device. Also perhaps to help purge S3 inventory since not a forgotten device.

Seems a lot of unneeded fluff, not to mention the multi window app function seems superfluous and limited in function on a dual core with a small display. Seems better suited for a tablet, so fluff on the S4 as well.

Also, battery appears to drain quicker since the update. Even when not using the new fluff.

Edit: After reading about the update, I am not so sure this is as much a good will gesture as thought. Seems more to show users the new features and perhaps to tweak interest in the S4. Business and goodwill can be opposing forces to some degree.

My 4g seems weaker and when it cuts out and goes to 3g, it never comes back until I reset the radios (airplane mode, reboot)

Same here on the 3G. Always 4G in my office, but now 3G a lot and will come back to 4G eventually or a reboot. IMO, a lame overall update so far.

I no longer get 4G and my house and if I do it comes and goes. Never ever has it been like that before. You just simply can not start messing with the radios/signal. I could care less about and update but when my signal gets worse after one I have a serious serious issue with this. I'm pretty pissed about it actually.

On that note, how or where do we start by forcing this issue onto Verizon. We need to hit them hard and fast right after an update or it won't equate to anything. It has to happen now. Any ideas where to start because calling a store is absolutely pointless.
