Video chat is going to be worthless until...

seriously, you don't just need a front facing camera phone to enjoy the benefits. say you're at the store or checking out a car and want to share it with your friend something, tango is integrated great IMO. push the contact and soon you're sharing what you want to show. awesome! i've done it with my GF who owns a 3GS many times.
 
Tango or Yahoo, which one to try. If I can Skype with my brother and his family in Indiana from my EVO to his computer I'll go with Tango!

Hope that Gingerbread comes soon for that function, and the music from your PC too!

I dont know if Tango goes from phone to pc, but the yahoo im does and it works good. i have both Tango and Yahoo IM. I like them both for what they do. Tango is good for phone to phone video chat, while yahoo works from phone to pc.
 
Downloaded the MYtouch version of Qik yesterday.. The UI is improved, no more push to talk button, uploads of video is almost instant, video quality has improved.

So is the quality good cause qik is crap and fringe....and we were on wifi..

Tango has worked flawlessly for me both on WiFi and 3G...No complaints so far. I'm enjoying how the app allows you to switch between the FFC and the back cam. Qik was a joke and Fring is ok I guess but didn't like when they discontinued Skype support.
 
Tango ALWAYS says i have a weak connection. Even though i have good coverage. i've even tried it on 4g and it said the same thing.
 
DAMN! i just tried yahoo again with, evo to PC, and it didn't work. When i opened up messenger, it required me to download an app to the market. The app would open and I would try to call but it would just go back to the friends screen. Can anyone test it to see if they closed the connection to any phones that arent a mytouch4g?

Do not install the update! When you open Messenger, & get the message to install the app, long press home key. Then hit messenger. This enables video chat to work. I was just video chatting between my PCs & my phone about 5 minutes ago. Be aware this will enable it to work, until you close/sign out from Messenger. Then you may have to do it over again.

1.Open/ Sign in to Messenger (Install message will appear)

2.Hit "back key"

3.Long press "Home" key

4.Open Messenger

5.Video chat should be enabled.

You can switch cams on Qik too. Is the video smoothness better though? I've held decent conversations with my wife, but they could be significantly better.

Tango's video quality is damn near flawless. Almost 0 lag on 4g.. With a few more upgrades it can be the best of the bunch..
 
jus get ""tango video calls"" app from android market .it works with att sprint verizon and other providers that have android o.s 2.1 or higher on their phones....
