Root [Virgin Mobile] hung up on loading screen after failed update

Newbie
tried updating my phone and it didn't work, when trying to go back then things froze up, now i am stuck on the samsung screen. i can get into recovery and DL modes, but no matter what i do nothing works....i really need my phone, help please

When you do a restore in recovery, are there any errors?

Can you access your phone via adb while in recovery?

i dont get any error messages,it says it was sucsessful, then asks about SU.if i say install it shuts it off right away same if i say no.

im not sure what adb is.
If youre using twrp 2.5 switch to 2.4.3, 2.5 has known issues.

do you know where to get 2.4.3? i have 2.5 or 2.6

I have the 2.4.3 zip, I can upload it tonight at work if need be.

It should be on the rooting thread though.

Very possible 2.5 is screwing up the g60 backup flash.

jerry, you always have the right stuff for everybody lol thanks. so i flashed it, and let it reboot, but it is still on the samsung screen, now stuck for about 12 mins

Are you wiping before you flash?

Youre flashing G60's stock backup, right?

okay i will give it a shot in a few. i am currently still stuck on samsung screen, will keep my fingers crossed that the no props.zip will work

*EDIT* NVM, it finally booted back up :D following steps to update now.

*edit 2* okay, so i got the status 7 error.... question though, step 7. for the new update is "Reboot into the system and do updates in settings" when i do this, it just takes me into TWRP. is this the problem??

Does it do this when Updating PRL, Profile and Firmware? Or does it go into TWRP just when updating Firmware? I have had the firmware update boot into TWRP. I just click on reboot and the phone should reboot but the update will fail and quit nagging you. Then if you flash the No-Props zip that should install the update. I was having problems to and Jerry helped me big time. For me the key was not fixing root when asked by TWRP and then flashing Kouches Superuer.

I know little compared to Jerry, Chiral and rbheromax, just trying to help using my own errors. Here is the link to Koush's Superuser that you should flash after you restore G60's back up.

This is the order I did things:
1 Boot into TWRP and clear Delvik
2 Restore G60's Back Up
3 Restart Phone and do not fix root when prompted by TWRP.
4 I did not do the updates in system settings but Jerry recommends this so do it.
5 Boot into TWRP and flash Koush's Superuser.
6 Boot to system and the phone should be rooted again.
7 Boot into TWRP and flash no-props.zip.
8 Wipe Delvik again and boot to system.
9 If using Link2SD, now you can recreate mount scripts and this will get your apps back.

I was seeing many similar problems between what you are experiencing and what I had going on. I followed this order with Jerry's help and my phone is running great. I also was having a problem that once the phones scripts were recreated, I had multiple superusers so I installed root uninstaller and removed the superuser I didn't need. that also helped.

it only went to twrp when updating the system. i followed all the steps you said, but still no luck with the no props.zip, i still received the status 7 error *shrugs* im going to try to do a full stock restore and unroot, then try to update like it would normally...thank you for trying to help though!

*update* okay, so i restored from G60's file, then even flashed back to a stock recovery, then selected install now when it prompted for a system update. it went like 40%, then it showed the android dude with his chest opened lying on his back and a red caution sign with a ! in it. then it did a normal reboot. when i tried to go under settings to do a system update, and it says i was updated but it still shows me as running the MC1 version. I am totally out of ideas now lol
