Root [Virgin Mobile] I need help :(

I wish I could make a zip of the stock rom. I haven't found a quick easy way to do it. I don't have time at the moment to sit, understand and learn how. many how to's I have read start simple then lose me.

Ahh I get the same error :/ "Error while restoring /system." I tried googling it but couldnt find a solid method to fix this problem.

Yep. Im using CWM V5.5.0.4
Edit: Correct me if im wrong but this is what i did.
1. Placed backup into the clockworkmod folder.
2. Go into recovery mode.
3. Wipe Date and Cache.
4. Go into Backup and Restore.
5. Restore
6. Select the file.

After all that was done it check the MD5, then prepares it, deletes boot, and prepares to install then right after indicates, "Error while restoring /system"

Okay... Here is another of my backups... Google Drive - clockworkmod backup folder zipped I zipped up all the folders in the structure from the SDcard root.... so just delete your existing "clockworkmod" folder and replace it with my zipped version.... Wipe system, data, cache then restore from my backup....

I really love this sub-forum because its like back in the day when people shared nandroid backups. Total community spirit :beer:

Well my issue is that, I installed a ROM and it doesnt work with the VM yet. So im trying to go back to stock. I was thinking using a back up would work. Does this method work? Or do I have to wait for a ROM?
I just wiped and formatted everything. And it still gives me the same error.
EDIT: Omg it worked!!!!!!!! I love you!!! So I found out what happened. I had to update my CWM in order to use your backup.
For all others who have the same problem as "Error in restoring /system" Update ur CWM and then try using the backup again. For those who accidentally flashed a rom that is not compatible yet use Punk's backup and put it into ur CWM.
Thanks again.

Well I guess I'm stuck on the sprint rom for now but I got the 3g working no 4g if anyone is stuck with no data try going in to more settings network an go from Lte/cdma to cdma you will have 3g for now !!

first you could full wipe then use the cwm backup the punkmaxx posted. then you could flash the modem.zip and you should be set.

I am in the same situation: stuck with Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 flashed to Sprint with no backup. I need the stock Virgin Mobile ROM, but the links posted last month no longer work. Can someone share them again?
