Virgin Mobile might release a software update

It's being pushed out in waves, you can always go into settings - system updates - htc software updates and poll the server manually.

You can try that, but it is not always the case. I haven't received mine yet, and I've tried manually a few times, and it is not there.

Same Here... but then again who wants something that only works on stock I'm hoping Mobster can incorporate this into his latest version.

The OTA may only be available on stock but it's easily flashable on custom roms right now.

Multiple times a day. Including today.

You're not alone. I still haven't received it, and it is not there for me to manually download, so they have not sent out all the updates yet. I've never really had the radio interference problem with my EVO, so I don't mind waiting.

My girlfriend still has not received the update so she called VM customer service today and they're sending her a replacement phone. Strange?

Really? Did they mention if everyone should have received the update by now? I guess it could have just been another incompetent VM customer service agent.

Don't have it yet either.
E: Its slightly comforting to know that others don't have it. But it is also really annoying that we don't.

No update for me, either. How long does it usually take for these "rolling updates" to get around to everyone? I can't believe they sold so many of these phones that it would take this long.

So I know that the OTA update won't install if you have a custom recovery, but will that stop it from showing up when manually polling the HTC update server? I would think that the package would still download to the phone.

I'm running the stock ROM but rooted, S-On, and original HBoot, but do have a 3rd party recovery. The last update or two still downloaded fine (personalize update, and I think there was one before for some HTC app)

You are correct. The update should still show up. I think some roms disable it but I'd think if you do the manual check it would still show up. Also, if you're rooted, you can just basically do the update yourself. In fact, I have a PG86IMG.zip that I pulled from the update that contains all the firmware upgrades that were in the update... It would require s-off to use though...

How does that work? Do i have to be on a certain rom?

To do the update? Not really. The file i packaged up contains an hboot so that might cause problems with some roms. But you can also remove the hboot (or any file) from the zip that you don't want. If You Are s-off and want the update, I can help you with it!

The guys having issues with not receiving the update, are you on stock roms? I was on midnight and was annoyed with not getting the update so I started the process of becoming s-off so I could flash it. When I loaded the stock rom the update popped up. I am not sure if there is a connection or if that was just for me. I ended up getting s-off and flashing the update. The signal fluctuations are still here pretty much, but the sms error is gone. It is really nice pressing send and seeing it send immediately. As for signal strength, it seems to be hit or miss. Some places seem stronger, and others seem weaker.

I am on stock. No changes. And still no update.
