This seems to be an appropriate place to mention my experience as well. Last night I put cm 11 on my phone after reports of people getting MMS to both send and receive over LTE. I spent hours playing with both the fixes, changed APNs manually to things I had found on forums (mostly older settings) and nothing seemed to work. What eventually made sense to me is that if it really did work for some people out of the box and their phone hadn't reverted to 3g, it likely had something to do with the modem since that's not touched by flashing a custom rom. I had flashed the MK5 modem alongside CM11 and was only able to send MMS as a result with the 2nd fix.

After all that I finally discovered that the MG2 modem with the 2nd update (labelled as LTE send only) allowed me to both send and receive over LTE. I would love to get feedback and see if it works for others, which could hopefully lead us to narrowing down a permanent solution that could work on all modems.

I'll revert to mg2 and install second fix, will report in a bit.
 
see now that makes sense, because other devices ive used similar apns on didnt have said issues. i thought it was a samsung specific issue but it being a radio firmware specific issue is just as likely
 
Anyone know why this wouldn't work for miui based on 4.2.2? My brother flashed it after setting everything up he's still on the moded md4/7 boot loader and 3g works but no 4glte

I went back to MG2 with second fix, no luck.
 
ATTENTION:
Myself and others have tested this on CyanogenMod11 and found that the 2nd MOD worked (the LTE fix). As long as you use Hangouts instead of the stock Messaging app it should work.

*Please report back whether this works or doesn't for you.*

I tested this on the MK5 modem with Knox via the OTA and it worked for me!

Does mms work on 3g also with the second fix?
 
This is the way to get lte and mms working as well as 3g mms and group messaging:
device l710pubmkf (no knox)
android 4.41

1.do a clean flash of nightly 11-20131208-nightly-d2spr and gapps
2.reboot
3. download handcent from market
4. make default messaging
5. go to application settings in handcent; under mms settings go to carrier setup
6. click manual
7. enter this exactly http://mmsc.vmobl.com:8088/mms? no quotes
8.hit ok
7. under application settings scroll to bottom; turn on thread group conversation

The second fix is working for me also for both sending and receiving. I tested by sending myself pictures. I will say one thing though, I took a picture and sent it to myself. The picture that I took looked normal but the same picture that came in looked a little bit distorted. Why do you think that is?
 
heres the question tho. is it just a repackaged version of this apn with no credit given? or is it actually something different?
 
kool, and yea im not too worried his apn is fundanentally flawed. he obviously doesnt know what hes doing and in turn made his theft obvious. the apn value of n.vmu.ispsn only applies to virgin lol

oh and half those companies arent sprint baaed so the networks wrong
