Root [Virgin Mobile] [ROM][MG2] <MG2_RYDER> [9/12/2013] [w/addons]

A reboot seemed to fix the setting problem and reinstalling Google search fixed the problem.

Good ROM so far, only problem is that my signal strength is not as strong as it would be on stock

Great work.

Would it cause problems if I open the ROM and rebloater with WinRAR and drag and drop some of the apps back into ROM... I always do it, but I just want to make sure, or in case there's something I should know about doing that.

Edit: Ah man, how do you set the V for Vendetta wallpaper again, or where is the file located?

Edit: So does overclocking work now on the Sprint MD4 KT747 Kernel? I boosted the speed to 1.7GHz on the kt app and i shows the speed change on Antutu... not to mention that I according to the score my phone smashes the nexus 4 and is right behind the quad core S3 with a score of 18776. Is this just the kernel being good or is this a true overclock?

Edit: Quadrant also shows the OC and gives a score way higher than one x at 6630, scores also drop when you disable OC, but are still relatively high compared to stock mg2 kernel... Could this be too good to be true!?

Have you OCed? I honestly don't think its really all that necessary. I don't have any apps that demand it, and games like asphalt 8 and galaxy on fire 2 already run flawlessly. You've done a great job and given us a lot. You should open a donation, you've earned a few beers!

LOL I just love doing this. I make enough money so no need for donations here. I prefer people donate to those I pulled stuff off of :)

No - I havent OC'd yet. Like you point out no real need. I came from a Galaxy S Vibrant (as in 1st generation Galaxy S) so the speed increase for me was....noticeable

My first thoughts on the ROM and KT747 kernel are that they work great. I haven't experienced any lessening of signal strength, or connectivity issues. 4G is working well in my house. I haven't noticed any out of the ordinary battery drain even while overclocked to 1.7-1.9GHz, and I haven't changed the governor from "ondemand". I haven't sent or expected any MMS, or made phone calls yet ,so someone should verify they work well, I'll try to. Something I noticed is that the "Preparing Network..." would sometimes not go away after reboot, but 4G still works fine, and the notification goes away after another reboot. I'll update profile to see if it helps.

Is it possible to get a center clock and transparent status bar for touchwiz too? Are the xperia and sense 5 mods reversible, or do i have to reflash to go back to touchwiz style? Also, I know you posted the V wallpaper, but could you tell me where in the rom itself I can locate the pic? You should still have a donation option, this stuff is time consuming and you are sharing your efforts lol

Edit: Actually I can't seem to be able to do both PRL and Profile update, I did it before I just don't remember if it was before or after I flashed the KT747 Kernel... Everything works fine though...

ROM and KT747 kernel working great for the last 4 hours... Thanks for all the hard work man!
This combo is great... I'm only sorry I didn't have time to test it sooner...

Do we just flash the kernel in recovery. Does is matter that I'm flashing a new kernel even though I've been use this ROM for about 2 days now?

Thanks. Great work on this rom

Yes for us flash in recovery. You could flash a new kernel every hour if wanted. I would suggest you clear Dalvik and cache and a kernel switch...long first boot...wait about 10min then reboot....then enjoy

(NOTE FROM KT747 Kernel Dev)
***** IMPORTANT *****
If you are using my ktoonservative governor with the Touchwiz JELLYBEAN version, you should rename /system/bin/qosmgr to /system/bin/qosmgr.bak to prevent battery drain

I noticed that too at times. Its because the build.prop edit is setting it to "Virgin Mobile" with correct ID (311490) and not what is default (VMU with Chameloen). Try a "Hot boot" instead of a full reboot.

Is it possible to get a center clock and transparent status bar for touchwiz too?

Yes. Im working on a "Return to Stock" package (may take a week or so) and the TW Center clock. Ill try to get the TW Center clock transparency out by tonight or tomorrow morning.

Also, I know you posted the V wallpaper, but could you tell me where in the rom itself I can locate the pic?

The defaultWallpaper.jpg is compiled with the framework-res.apk. Best bet is to copy the picture to your phone then set it up that way. Ill see about adding a few more in the default selection "wallpapaers".

--Also added setting to get Viper4Android to work in suggestions section of OP (with link to Dev). Works good with the Xperia Walkman addon. Note: I like the Sense 5 mod myself but I installed the Xperia mod..booted...then installed the sense mod to get some of the extra Xperia mod apks like Walkman.

Are you still able to access both the PRL and Profile updaters on your end. They don't do anything on my end. As I mentioned before, I did use them before, but I don't remember if it was before or after flashing the kernel.

I put some of the apks from the bloater back into the ROM before I even flashed, and none of them had to do with the system update function. I reflashed the stock kernel and the PRL/Profiles functions came back, it figures lol
