Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] [ROM] AdvancedStock7 11/17/2014 OVERCLOCKED+STABLE+BATTERY_LIFE!

I disabled the SDSwap app and still have errors with Link2SD.

When going into Settings --> Accounts & Sync then pressing on the 'Google' Account, the next screen shows 'Sync error' below the Gmail email address. When going into that account, all items, i.e., App Data, Calendar, Drive, People Data, etc, show a date and time last synced. Not sure I understand why.

Also noticed shortcuts don't show on the default lockscreen.

------------
For links2SD, please check the SuperSU app for a green "#" next to the Link2SD icon. if it is gray, or red, then that's why you are getting permissions issues on Links2SD.

Also, the Google Sync issue could be a number of things, I will unfortunately not be able to narrow that down without physically looking at your phone.

As far as the default lock screen, it is AOSP and I have no control over it as it comes built into android (and without serious modifications, of which I cannot do yet) so the lock screen can be replaced by WidgetLocker as shown in this video: WidgetLocker on AdvancedStock7 for LG Optimus Fx3 - YouTube

This is a video of me using WidgetLock (From the playstore. Latest version)
**Please note, I am running the latest version of AdvancedStock7.

I was also getting the sync error, but it seems to have fixed itself...syncs fine now.

Using Links2SD and not having any issues. I uninstalled SDSwapper and rebooted first, then re-partitioned my SD card, and had to recreate mount scripts for it to recognize the partition.

Links2SD did not create the mount scripts for you?

Could you post a short how to on what you did so we can share it with the rest of the users?

Sure. I was not getting the errors that the other gentlemen were getting, but this is what I did.

I disabled SDSwap, then uninstalled it via Ti Backup. Rebooted to make sure that the internal/SD storage was reading correctly.
Then I had to re-partition my card, on account of deleting the partition to try the swap.

Opened up Links2SD to link my apps, and noticed the "Create Link" option was grayed out. Went to the "Storage Info" section of the app, and saw that the partition was not reading. Went to "More>Recreate mount scripts" selected the ex that was used for my partition (in my case ex4). Let the app do its thing, then rebooted.

Link2SD does have the correct 'green' pound symbol next to its entry in SuperSU.

It's good that you can use Widget Locker, however, my problem is I can't even open it without getting an error: 'Unfortunately, WidgetLocker has stopped'. I went into Settings --> Apps and cleared data. Seems to have fixed it. Will test further.

Go ahead and uninstall and reinstall Links2SD. Just for Sh*ts and Giggles. :)

Will try that and report back.

Also, 8sms works with APN settings for Virgin Mobile but only when switched to 3G. Does not work sending an MMS under 4G.

Yeah, 8SMS is really nice, I got it to work at one point, but ChompSMS seems to be more compatible (At least in my experience) But you are, of course, free to install and remove whatever you want from the ROM :D ChompSMS, with the proper MMS Settings, will send on 4G or 3G.

Also, did notice that sometimes, reseting the app in SuperSU (Links2SD) and changing it back to prompt instead of Grant or Deny, sometimes fixes root perms with that app.

Thank you! I will post a link to this post to help others that might be having the same issue. :smokingsomb:

Nice work on this "bare bones" rom! Still getting OTA update fc's, everything else works smoothly. Running Simple Apex/Nova/Go Theme by Samer Zayer from Google Play. Very nice, efficient, elegant rom! Thanks for the good work! :D

I did test ChompSMS and it does send MMS on 4G, however, I prefer the simplicity of 8SMS so will probably stick with 8SMS and switch the Network Mode to 3G when sending an MMS as I may only send a few every month. Would like to figure out the problem with displaying my Avatar in the message list view. That was working on previous ROM. I think it has something to do with the sync problem I'm having. Other Avatars display correctly - just not mine.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Link2SD. Works fine now. I think this had something to do with restoring Link2SD from a backup on another ROM and that's what messed it up. Anyway, its fixed

Yep, mine did the same. Sync error just cleared early this evening ;)

Just noticed connecting phone to computer via USB cable no longer works. Had no problem with this in previous stock ROM.

------------

Go to settings -> PC connection and select "MTP"...
This settings must have been default in the previous stock ROM. In any case, its fixed. Appreciate the quick response ;)

I have noticed that this ROM is considerably more responsive then the stock Rooted V6 I was running. Link2SD on previous ROM was very laggy at times. Haven't noticed that with this ROM. Trying to get all the stuff working I need to before applying Xclusive36's V8 root patch. I'm hoping the backup I make before flashing this patch sticks in case there is any problems. That's what jammed me up earlier in the week. 4G quit working and I was mucking about trying to get it fixed and decided to restore from a backup that I knew had 4G. Backup must have become corrupt at some point and soft bricked the phone.

Try updating your profile under settings then system updates

I performed this process on initial flashing of the ROM.

Noticed the 'Voice Search' app (used for voice dictation on keyboards) must be reinstalled after each restart/reboot of phone. Very strange. Never have seen this before.

EDIT: Is there a quick way to enable the WiFi Hotspot in lieu of accessing Settings each time?

I've never seen that happen before either. Maybe permissions issue. I'll look into it.
Which version do you have?

For the WiFi Hotspot: Go to the play store and get a widget that toggles Stock Hotspot.

When viewing the Voice Search app in Play Store (before installing) Play Store reports this as being installed - no 'Open' Button.

Voice Search works fine after installing it (from a apk file on SD Card) until the next boot. Then Voice Search requires a reinstall.
