Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] [ROM]AdvancedStock8 AS7v22 Update - Back to life!

I had a 64gb card already in the phone when I flashed this rom. Sdcardswapper recognized it and swapped the data. Now I want to use a 16gb instead, so what steps do I need to take to replace the current card with the new one; without messing up the way sdcardswapper operates? I want to make sure all of the right folders end up where they are supposed to end up. There is not really any detailed instructions about disabling SDcardswapper from the creator Sandix. Here is what he says about disabling it.
To Disable:

  1. Open SDCard Swapper Fx3
  2. Select the "Disable SDCard Swap" checkbox
  3. reboot phone.
  4. enjoy.

Can anyone help tell me what the proper procedure is for exchanging a new card?
Just swap the cards and reboot.
Also make sure to transfer any android data from the original card to the new one. SDSwapper should handle the rest.

This ROM is a ~294MB Download, and leaves you with just under 1GB of usable space for apps and downloads

I just did a fresh install with your rom. But, I cant find the 4GB built in Storage.

Here are the OEM specs of the phone
System memory: 1024 MB RAM
Built-in storage: 4 GB
Maximum User Storage: 1.24 GB

So where did the 4GB end up?

**EDIT**
Apparently, the 4GB of Built-in Storage advertised is only referring to the total hardware flash memory that is on the motherboard.

"How do we get Android to spit out the true memory & storage situation?"
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/comp.mobile.android/e6svmGS1M-E[1-25]

So Im assuming that the 4GB memory is partitioned for 1024 RAM, 1024 User Storage, and the rest of the memory is filled up with Virgin Mobile apps and ROM. Unless anyone can shed some light on where the rest of the memory is.

You can blame manufactures for that, all of them do it, LG, samsung, apple, etc. Its very misleading unfortunately...

Whats the difference between the init.d emulator, and the Universal init.d Support made by Ryuinferno?
[MOD][APK+SCRIPT+ZIP] Enable Init.d for Any Phones w/o Need of Custom Kernels!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933849
They seem like they are the same scripts, so since your ROM already has init.d emulator built in, can I skip to step 7 in the App2External_SD install instructions?
[MOD]App2External_SD (Fixed Duplicate files)
http://androidforums.com/threads/mod-app2external_sd-fixed-duplicate-files.801368/

I don't want to download and install Uni-init.d v 1.0.apk if its going to conflict with the init.d emulator.

The init.d emulator included in the AdvancedStock ROMs is one that I made. It does the same thing, no differences really except mine does not have a lot of settings to play with like Uni-init.d does. At this point, it is up to you, you have root so uninstall or install the one you want.

The link to the download page is down? Does anyone have a different link, or a copy of the file that I can download?

Damn, you had me excited. I thought you meant that the link WAS back up. I am checking every 12 hours or so. :)
I now feel your pain, the exact same thing just happened to me. :) Sandix must be moving things around on his website. I can wait as this looks like the most stable and best working custom rom for this phone period. Please and thankyou Sandix.:D

Finally got my new 32 GB SD card, rooted and got TWRP installed. Ready to try out one of these ROMs but the download links are all broken. :saddroid:

I have even tried waiting a whole week without checking back even once, in hopes it was just me jinxing it. Sorry guys, someone else is watching the pot, too.

Links updated. Sorry about that guys!
Good to see you back. We were worried sick! :P

Wondering: Have you seen the thread about the "increase available gigabytes"? Do you know anything about that? It is basically the same thing as your SDcardswapper?

Also, this is what I have gotten the last 3 times I tried in CWM Recovery after following the usual directions exactly. Not sure what it is I am missing.

Installing: /external_sd/advancedstock8_V22.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E:Can't open /external_sd/advancedstock8_V22.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.

Try downloading v20

It is most likely similar.

Try downloading v20

v20 works for me. It looks like the only difference externally is that v22 contains a .lok where a .img was in v20. Should I be able to convert that .lok with CWM or do I need to use something else? ..Or am I way off in the first place?

V22 should install, unless the file became corrupt on my server during the move.

The V22 was made to use the .lok file for the boot. That is normal. As for CWM, I have a recommended recovery in the instructions in the OP.

V20 is usually the one I recommend because that is the most stable out of all the updates I have pushed out.

I am also getting the "bad" error on V22. Would you kindly be able to re-upload it? It's possible that the data was corrupted, as you said, from the ISP move-over.

**EDIT** I'm going to try and literally just change the extension of the .lok file to a .img and see if it works or not. I don't really care if it bricks my phone or not. I'll report back in awhile with results.

**EDIT a few minutes later**
Changed file extensions and re-zipped using 7zip. Returns:
> Installing update...
> Installation aborted

Attempted to install V20:
> E:Can't open /external_sd/AdvancedStock7V20.zip
> (bad)
> Installation aborted

Enabling signature check and trying again yields:
> -- Installing: /external_sd/AdvancedStock7V20.zip
> Finding update package...
> Opening update package...
> Verifying update package...
> E:footer is wrong
> E:signature verification failed

It appears that whatever move-over you did with your ISP may possibly have corrupted the files. Or my micro-sd is going bad (I don't have a second one to test with atm).

Is anyone else getting this error with both files?

Sandix, would it be possible for you able to re-upload and provide a checksum?

I just downloaded and flashed with no problems.

Shortly after you said this, I rebooted, formatted everything again, redownloaded the files, and started from scratch.

Then I found out my microsd card is, indeed, at fault. It has completely died and is not even showing up in diskpart or gparted.

It's not even a paperweight because it doesn't weigh enough.

Sorry, sandix. I am at fault here. I'll get a new card and try again.
