Wall-mounted TV

46" Samsung LCD in bedroom is wall mounted. 52" Samsung LCD in the livingroom is on top of a low entertainment center for all the AV gear and game consoles.

If you want a nice wall mount that is cheap go to monoprice.com. They also have great HDMI cables.

Not mounted mine. I live in an Apt. so... yeah...
But when we get a house my 40in Samsung is so going on the wall!

I can't figure out whether to get LCD, LED, or Plasma.

It's all very confusing.

Depends on a few factors. Plasma still has the best picture, the best blacks, best for motion but they're heavier, produce more heat and use more electricity.

I would only get an LED if it's direct lit (local dimming)...edge lit models can't produce deep blacks and sometimes aren't as accurate in colors.

The regular CFL LCDs are still nice also.

Oh yeah, LCD = crappy viewing angle. If you watch it any more than 15 degrees off center then all the colors get washed out.

I'm about to buy another set and Plasma is my choice still.

i've got an ~80" mdf mounted on the wall, opposite to a projector on top of a shelf/computer :)

The "TV/Film" forum is for discussion of movies and television programs, not about tv sets (forum subtitle, "Talk about tv shows and movies").

Thread moved to the Lounge for you. ;)

I have 2 that are mounted and two that are not. The 2 that are mounted its a space/aesthetics reason that they are mounted.

I built a swivel type wall mount that usees actuators to move off of the wall then swivel 90 degrees so when im in bed I can see it. right in front of me. Was a fun project mroe than anything. Would love to patent it some how but nto sure what to do there

Plasma definitely mounted on the wall in the family room.

The bedroom LCD i'd like mounted on the ceiling that flips over into a mirror ... giggity.

I hate when wall mounted units have wires dangling down.... rca chords dropped down to Blueray/dvd. Cable wire dropping down....

If you don't have a good way to conceal wires or account for them.... why do it.

mounted with all the wire running behind the wall. below it is a black entertainment center with all the av equipments. the wire runs behind the tv and in the wall and comes out behind the center so everything is hidden. All done myself. ;)
