Root Want an Audio Improvement?

Ok so I have been seeing a lot about beats audio and whatnot on here so I thought I would put in my 2 cents.

First of all the phone speaker is what is. You can squeeze a little out of it but your not going to turn a tweeter into a subwoofer. Its just not going to happen. At least not without some bad results...:p

I have actually stopped using poweramp because of this. If you get into the eq and do it yourself you can make the volume boost LOUD! I just realized this actually. lol

Ok now so as for actual audio improvements I guess this has been out for sometime but I havent seen anyone talking about it and I found this a couple weeks ago and I have been using it religiously since. That being said, I feel like I can safely say this makes a nice difference. Only slightly noticeable on the phones speaker but in the headphones it enhances sound very nicely. It has 3 different profiles one for phone speaker, one for headphones, and one for bluetooth device. It also has user adjustable equalizer with presets. This will work across the whole system so anything that plays on your phone (ringtones, games, etc) will receive the audio boost. Its called DSP manager. Again this is not a miracle worker but it helps! And its just a nice little lightweight app! :) Check it out here:

I have actually stopped using poweramp because of this the only thing this doesnt have that poweramp has is the volume boost. And I think it might boost it a little bit depending on how you set it but its probably not much.

I'll check it out. I used poweramp for awhile because it has some different equalizers which are great if you use them on an external speaker (in my case, a giant 15w amp from peavey.)

I wanna say DSP manager comes in CM7. I used to always delete it when I had my Ascend.

well there you have it!! MR. TRAINED EAR has spoken! the app is obviously crap :p

nah just kiddin ya fuzzy!!

i have used this before and i liked it...depends on what you like i guess.
 
Volume + is definitely worth the 2.99 or w.e it is. Makes music sound incredible especially with headphones.
 
I been screaming that since beats first came on a android device n started getting ported to everything like it was crack lol. Nothing special about it at all!!!

And yes DSP is in CM* and its as good as any other app of its type out. ;)

I never used this cause I suck at equalizers. I just use volume+, does the job.
 
Well some mixed reviews there. I just wanted to make sure this wasnt placebo or something for me. I had no idea it was in cm7 so thats good to know. I'm sure volume+ is great but I think Ill stick with this little free gem for now! Thanks everyone for your input and I hope that maybe this brought dsp manager to some other peoples attention that didnt know about it!
 
Had DSP on my old Optimus M when I was running CM7 and loved it. I don't know and don't need to know about any other apps because DSP to me is the one to have and makes a difference.

Nice call on bringing it to the attention of others :thumbup:
 
I just thought the neat part about dsp manager is that it works system wide. I dont know. I had well over 175 downloaded apps at one point on my phone...quite awhile ago. And then I got on this kick to start having as few as possible. One thing was I had 50,000 go apps to theme my phone. I got sick of that. Thats really why I even started theming. Now I am proud to say I dont have a single go app no home replacements nothing. And I thought this was a decent replacement for downloaded music players with the added bonus of working all across the system. And that is just another app less I have to have on my phone. I know thats just replacing one with another really but this is pretty lightweight (76kb says my phone!!!). I have vested money in several paid music apps but this is free and I can use the stock music player (which is also lightweight 696kb)...which I can theme to a certain extent to my liking if I choose. So for less than 3/4 of a mb I can have equalized sound. This is why I think this is so great. Just trying to keep things slim and simple! :D But everyone has their own preferrences and thats good! I just wanted 1 to make sure I wasnt the only one who thought this was cool and 2 I didnt know about it before so I imagine there might be other people who didnt as well and I wanted to get it out there for them too!:)

*EDIT* Admittedly I also was hoping this would put an end to the beats audio stuff thats been going around as well...lol
