Root WARNING - Do Not Use ROM Manager!!!

please read the thread i linked a few posts back. you will need to do what is on there.
doing an RUU will not fix the usb/sdcard brick
also the error you are getting is either because you are using an aftermarket cable or your usb port is underpowered (try using a different port that is deffo usb2)

What should i do?
My phone is work, but it cannot detect sd card and receive signal very bad.

So sorry, I have tried my best to read the previous post. But i still don't know what i should do... Sorry again

again read what i said, you cannot do any of that to fix your issue, you have a usb/sdcard brick
you get cid errors also because you dont have a gold card but forget about that. you need to do the usb brick fix as described in that thread
http://androidforums.com/desire-all-things-root/379550-nandroid-backup-wiped-everything.html

do not use the mtd0.zip in that i attached as its for o2
you will need to get one for the carrier you are on

A big big big thank you to you, Rastaman-FB!!
Thanks a lot!
I fixed my problem now. My phone can read sd card and connect to PC via USB cable finally. I flashed custom ROM to my phone.
I am so happy with that.

i cant recommend roms as they are subjective, each to his own

just make sure you dont use rom manager for anything

make a nandroid backup of your device as it is using recovery (only boot via voldown+power and not rom manager)
keep a copy of your mtd0.img file for safety but it probably will not happen again.
other than that have fun

okok...or else can you provide some rom for me choose?
I have saved my mtd0.img file!
Thanks you again !

the majority of us here are on aosp roms, ie GV, oxygen, redux or CM, generally faster, leaner and better battery life.

Errm, I kinda read this too late, I downloaded ROM Manager v4.3.3.0 and clicked on "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" Now under it, it says:
"Current Recovery: ClockworkMod 2.5.0.7"
"Latest Recovery: ClockworkMod 2.5.0.7"

Then I clicked on "Backup Current ROM" and it did its thing for like 10 minutes and now its rebooted and fine.

My Question is, do I have to uninstall ROM manager or something? As you said its bad?

Thanks

I would, think you got lucky. Get into the habit of doing things like backups from recovery, alot safer and just as easy.

Indeed. Don't rely on a Nandorid backup made via ROM Manager. Just boot into recovery and do a new backup. Takes about 10 min.

The first rule of ROM Manager is:
Do not use ROM manager

The second rule of ROM manager is:
Do NOT use ROM manager

Desire and Desire CDMA users: I have just switched you to real flashing rather than fakeflash. You will need to S-OFF. with unrevoked.

Aye, if you know about it. But the unrevoked site still gives you a download of unrevoked, not revolutionary (which is still beta).

I do wonder though - RM to use permanent rather than fake flash sounds good, but needing S-Off implies replacing the existing permanent recovery (or else why would you need it?). I think I'll still pass...

I prefer the manual approach to be honest. as good as ROM manager was for us at the begining, I think now it just encourages people to be lazy
