Funny, my wife has the RAZR M too. I've always had to wait weeks after the OTAs came out it seems...guess I got lucky this time.

Nothing for me yet (Verizon RAZR MAXXHD). I've done the manual check for system update a few times tonight. Patience is a virtue, I suppose.

I'll just do a manual check each night when I get home and connect to home wifi/power.

Do we yet have a confirmed RAZR MAXX HD update success or just the non-MAXX RAZR HD?

Also... I'd like to do an FDR afterwards, but don't want to lose my angry birds (various versions of the game) progress. Anybody got a simple backup strategy? I found one, but it was all sorts of hoops to jump through. Apparently the backup apps stopped working in 4.2, forcing non-rooted folks like me to do much more difficult things... Appreciate it if anybody has an easy way to do it.

First impressions after install and reset:

Overall
  • That new Kit Kat UI look.

Settings
  • Tap & Pay. I assume I know what this is, but am not presently interested.
  • Motorola Device ID. Seems to connect your phone to your Google account. It says "We use your Google account for Motorola services such as: Moto Care tips, Lost Phone Portal"
  • Four different vibration patterns, none of which are the old default one.
  • Disabled apps have their own tab instead of being at the bottom of the All tab.

Camera
  • App looks the same, but seems more responsive--but it could just be me. I did just do a factory reset too.
  • Camera button on lock screen.

Messaging
  • Messaging looks refreshed, and Google Hangouts can be set as the default SMS app.

I'm going to reinstall all my apps now.

UPDATE: There's a new camera app available to Kit Kat.

Hopefully this will fix the annoying pauses when playing music

I had this problem for a long time. Someone posted that you need to go in and disable all amazon related apps. I did this and it no longer skips, pauses, drops out or whatever you want to call it

Are you able to turn it off? I hope so, because this is a deal breaker for me. When my phone is locked, nobody should be able to access a damn thing.

I work with a bunch of people with iphones, and that is the thing they complain about the most. People messing with their cameras while the phone and locked and taking 100 or more rapid fire pics and then walking away.

I'm wondering the same thing, i haven't received anything yet...

I don't see a way to turn it off. To be clear, the locked phone can snap pictures but can't view the gallery--I'm prompted for my pattern when I swipe to try and view pictures.

I saw this on another forum, do you want to try it and see if it turns off this stupid feature?

"Go to settings, my device, lock screen, shortcuts. In the shortcuts window check none."
