As mentioned the problem with the iPhones is people doing a rapid group of shots then walking away. Not an issue here as my phone is never left alone.

Mine is either with me or away where no one other than me can access it. Sad when people just can not be trusted. That is how things are today.

I m surprised that not too many are showing up saying the update is in. It makes you wonder what is going on with the update. Hopefully there are not any major issues.

Edit; also I find it weird on the official blog there is nothing about the phones getting the update. It does have info on kit kat rolling out in may on the Verizon link for the hardware

You have the Maxx HD? Do you see the shorcuts menu that I posted about?

Usually the updates roll in phases so Verizon doesn't get overloaded.

I now have it and under settings there is no "my device" etc..

Edit 2; There is supposedly a lock screen in play store called locker that for a $1.93 opens up control of the lock screen shortcuts but I am not too sure without doing a root this will work either. While this does not affect me, having the icon, it does annoy me they would put it there with no user control to enable/disable it. I see once rooted other icons can be added as well. IMHO it would have been nice for control of adding and removing them as well.
 
Got my update notice too. Will apply it tonight when I get home and have WiFi and power available. See you guys on the other side!

In messaging and hangouts I have the white background. Time to search for a new app, trying textra now.
 
Did anyone notice a speed increase? Mine has been sooooo slow with apps opening, screens switching, etc.

My boss just got the m8, I really like/love this phone, but I would trade it in a second for that thing, didn't really notice the size issue like say the htc one max or note3, pretty sleek imo
 
One issue to figure out: on the lock screen I don't have the sound on/off slide control. That is my main way of silencing the phone or unsilencing it. How to get it back? Tia!

I just updated today. I notice that my pulse notification light is now white for email and texts. It no longer shows up for Facebook messages. It used to display different colors for different apps. Could someone please tell me how to change this?

Each individual app should have a settings page where you can pick your style of notification. So I go to Handcent to set the sound and LED color for texts; then to Touchdown for a different sound and color for emails; etc.
 
Also, does anyone know if one can change the colors in the notification bar? For the life of me, I don't know why the powers-that-be decided to change items from blue (that easily contrasts against the gray icons) to a light gray/offwhite. If I forget to turn off my bluetooth headphones/speakers, I really doubt I will notice that the icon is light gray rather than dark gray unless I am consciously focusing on it.
 
White is now the standard color in the notification bar. It's a 4.4.2 thing. Maybe an alternative launcher would change that? I don't know.

I tried that. There is no option for picking LED colors for the ones I am using (stock messaging, email, Facebook).
