The kernel doesn't have anything to do with the current camera problems.

Now that Huawei has released a Froyo version for all Ascends, this would be a good time to press them for the kernel. They won't be able to have any bullcrap excuses now. It's very irritating how they totally disregard open-source law.

A froyo version for all ascends? I thought it was only for metro...

Maybe the ROM, but that doesn't have anything to do with the kernel (hardware). A "Froyo" kernel (2.6.32) is applicable to all Ascends.

BTW, it's possible to make the 2.2 Metro ROM work for Cricket users. When I did Icarus, I started with Metro's version and added the necessary info for it to work for Cricket users.
 
I see... Thanks for clearing that up.

And thank you again for all the work you put into these roms. I hope I haven't come off as ungrateful in some of my posts. Mainly just confusion and frustration.

I noticed in the attachment that there was a link that has ALL of the Kernel's on it. It's The Linux Kernel Archives And the current stable Kernel is 2.6.39.3... Why couldnt someone just take the Kernel and make a Kernel flash that would work with CM6 or CM7???

the kernels on our phones arent the same as in a linux distro ;). I mean I guess it could be possible for some linux/android guru to config and compile one, but that person isnt me lol. Last kernel I config's and compile was on a desktop I built many moons ago lol.

I have the src that huawei put up on their site for the .32, so I could attempt to cross compile it and see what happens, but my guess is a brick ;)
