Weatherbug (UPDATE) - Now available for install on Xoom

Think of me what you want, but by far the app that I've looked forward to the most with the Xoom is the new Weatherbug app. Apparently people are having issues getting it to download on their Xooms, but being the savvy group that all you Android crazies are, I would be shocked if no one out there didn't at least have a leaked APK of this beta app by now. And if you do, please pass along any info if you have it. In the mean time I'm going to be taking it up with the folks at Weatherbug, since according to their website it is up and ready to go as a beta...but for some reason the Market is not yet recognizing their devices as being compatible. We shall see about that ;)
 
I too am waiting for it. I have used Weatherbug Elite on all my phones and love it. The Honeycomb version looks nice on the videos. Have you tried the Accuweather.com app? It's pretty good, not as good as the Weatherbug one, but not bad ...

Nah, not a fan of the Accuweather one at all. Its the Weatherbug app or bust. Quite honestly (and people will think I'm nuts) but the Xoom has been just sitting there on my bed and I really haven't used it much as I await that Weatherbug app. I'm going to submit a quick email to Weatherbug in hopes of getting an answer.

I'm thinking at first, yeah it's okay - you want your weather app. It's awesome. But now that you have it on your bed without using it much, yeah now you're nuts :P

Its all good, I just sent out an email letter to the folks at Weatherbug bringing this to their attention, as I'm sure they'd like to know. Looks like I'll be championing this issue on multiple forums just like I did the USB host thing (but hey at least I got official answers on that one, and it only took me a couple days, lol!)

Yeah its there but no one is able to download or install it as apparently the market isn't recognizing the xooms as being compatible with this app.
 
Am I missing something here? I see a weatherbug and a weatherbug elite in the market already. Are those not optimized for the tablet? Where is this beta that you are talking about?
 
The Weatherbug For Tablets Beta is not showing up on the Xoom yet, but can be seen on the Web based Marketplace, but can't be pushed to the Xoom yet either.
 
Ok well it looks like the consensus is that the app, which apparently should be able to be downloaded, will not download, so I'm guessing there must be some glitch on either Google's part or Weatherbug's (according the the Weatherbug site the beta has been released, as of Feb 24th). Either way I have an email into the folks at Weatherbug so hopefully they'll get this squared away in the next few days. If I hear back from them I'll post the info on this forum ASAP.

Hmm, this didn't happen to me, however I did have apps stored onto google and when logging into google account with my Xoom, all of my apps were restored automatically. It works beautifully on my Xoom, although you can tell it wasn't designed for the larger screens.
 
the beta is designed for tablets. if the app you have is not looking optimized properly for the xooms display, its most likely not the beta.

Yes, its the one I had purchased earlier for my evo. So what is the name of the other one in the market so I can see how it looks on the Xoom?
 
the best is in the market but its locked out form the xoom.. tomorrow when someone gets in their office and reads the emails they should fix this... :D
