Icarus got up to 1.1 but the devs have put their efforts to CM6/CM7 mods. Not much more you can do with Icarus.

thanks..i believe im already up to 1.1 but i looked up for CM7 today and honestly it doesnt look much better...i was hoping for the MMS fix but it seems to have more issues than Icarus does now soo

MMS was fixed today for CM7. The icarus 1.1 was just to fix mms issues for metro users. But im running CM7 now and its great CM6 is also really good, much faster than icarus, 710 overclock and alot of other things. You should really look into them they are totally worth it.

oh but no lol.

with a lil patience n know how mms works on CM7 now. On cricket just flash the latest build, on metro I had to grab the apn.xml isaac put on github and flash the fix again. It is SWEEEETTT!!! :D

No way in hell I'd go back to 2.1 no matter what they did too it lol.Yes a few bugs but hey its a custom ROM WIP ;)
 
i had the same problem first day with my phone..sometimes it takes about 6 hours to setup google accounts...not on your end but on theirs
 
i've had it for about 24 hours now! had a problem with them switching my plan over, so i asumed it was that! but its switched, and still had complications.. i made a google account earlier in the day.. and still no luck.
 
hmm i would say probably wait the full 24 hours that it says in when you first set up the account and if that dont work then come back to us..i will look into it tonight for you though

A trip back to the store may be in order.I've read in this forum where some have received the WRONG plan(NON-ANDROID),at LEAST 3 or 4 have posted that this has happened to them.Don't know if this would affect market activity,my guess is that it would.
 
^^good point but if i remember right my moms didnt take for almost the full 24 hours..but yeah i would just hold it out until the morning but since you did say that they had a problem getting your account changed it might be that
 
i had that problem with being put on the wrong plan, and I couldn't even get to the market, so it's probably something else. Don't know what it would be though.

I was initially set up with the wrong plan. My phone had to be taken back to the store and they took care of it.
 
Is it possible to flash the Huawei Ascend from Cricket service to Virgin Mobile?
Sorry guys, couldn't find a better thread to ask this in; hoping I'll get the attention of some experts. I just rooted my phone yesterday and was considering what mod to flash to, but I am tired of Cricket's shitty service and shitty customer service. Virgin Mobile is CDMA and has the same prepaid monthly rate, running on Sprint's network. Do I need to "unlock" or "jailbreak" the phone to make it work on Virgin? If so, how do I do this? And Virgin already told me they will not register a non-Virgin Mobile phone to their network, so I have to do this on my own as well (if possible). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

p.s. Are the other mods (Icarius, CM6, CM7, etc.) capable of getting better coverage, both 1x and 3G? If so, how??

ALSO:
Are there any known bugs/features that don't work or work well with the newest CM7 for Cricket? I want to flash to a mod that is the fastest possible, but don't want any errors or bugs that will frustrate me (had enough of that with stock!) ALSO: will PDAnet work with CM7??

I can'y answer the question about Virgin Mobile but I can answer some other questions. CM7 is pretty much bug free except the Barcode Scanners. They do not work nor do some apps that use the camera such as Camera Fx. I found that some work some don't. The stock camera will certainly work. I have not tested PdaNet because I tether wirelessly using Barnacle WiFi tether. I suggest using that because its free and wireless.
